just as i feared, there is no easy way to do it, tried tri-boxing gold chests farming, got glavoid/lacovie triggers likewise time consuming
i go with nin war whm to farm triggers so i proc red 100% of the time, with disc abyssite it's even easier now
and um... does thief help with drop rate at all? i don't read BG regularly, first heard you need to trigger yellow !! but after 100 carabosse gems with mnk and thf in party i'd say that's inacurate, 'cause i got double gems 75% of the time without getting any !!s

!!'s do nothing for emp item drop rates, just TH.

Makes DRK relevant.
Torc is on par with Fudo outside abyssea, but inside, the unfavorable mod puts Fudo ahead.
Caladbolg is essentially Masamune -1 (needs one more hit to reach 100 tp).

Higher fTP, triple damage instead of double, lower delay and higher damage. DRK has lots of VIT choices. I don't see how it's Masamune -1, nor how Fudo is better than Torcleaver.

DRK isn't the only job on Caladbolg, so I really don't see why you're lumping the Empyrean weapon comparison in with the job comparison. Caladbolg should be better than Masamune, whether or not DRK is better than SAM is irrelevant.

You're positive about it resisting extra effects on blocks? That's crazy...

What's the MP Return like though? It says 25% of blocked damage, but is that 25% of the original damage or the final damage after the block reduction? Either way that shit is pro.

Too bad shields can't block if you don't have hate. It does show that SE is at the very least trying to make PLD a useful if not compelling choice for the front line. Strong damage reduction via AF3 (both set bonus and body) and high shield proc rate is pretty nifty, especially if it does affect additional effects. TP gain from sword and Shield Mastery would be respectable, and up to 28% damage > MP conversion offers a lot of MP for PLD to work with. Wonder if we can expect similar love for other jobs in the future. I know PLD is one of SE's babies and all but it would be nice to see things evened out a bit once more.

Yeah, solo PLD would probably be pretty strong with Ochain. Anything that doesn't inflict really nasty status effects (back to that question about add effects again) or far too much damage for C4 to keep up would be a joke. Obviously magic damage is still sort of an issue but PLD can self-shell so I'm not really seeing huge issues there.

some are 0-2 and usually 0s

i fought 50 apademaks and only 20 horns, but i only fought 7 azdaja and already got 10 horn in my bag lol
