That was implemented when they released the Mythics because OMG it would be SO unfair to 2H DD's if a handful of people across all servers were running around dual wielding a relic and mythic.

Yeah they should just change it so they give everything but the WS, but I have a feeling that what SE would actually do if you called their attention to this would be to make the Empyreans not give any stats offhand. Because A. they love the shit out of 2H DD's these days, witness all of the "2H weapon equipped" atmas" and B. they are just cocks that way.

Correct. Aftermath and thus ODD for Empyreans are only gained when the Empyrean WS is used. I suppose if someone really wanted to they could test whether a Badelaire+2 or other 1-handed WoE weapon gave the Aftermath when the Full Empyrean is in the offhand but not only is there 0 point in offhanding the clearly superior weapon, but I highly doubt it would work and there's no other way to replicate the proper WS.

Relic weapons also generate Aftermath, which is what I'm getting at here. If you have a relic in your main hand and an empyrean in your off hand and use a relic WS, will the aftermath effect trigger ODD on the offhand weapon?

No. Only the weaponskill attached to that weapon will trigger that weapon's aftermath effect.

a low man grp in abyssea is MNK or NIN + WHM only

i know whm can para too im just saying the para from kikoku is not "lol" and is handy so the whm can focus more on curing or not get resisted

anyway back to magian weapons...just saw th Q&A and someone mention abt wieldance card....

So you dont even bother procing Grellow or reds in your lowman group? Maybe its not lowman because abyssea is that easy but we bring Nin+War Whm Blm Blu/Brd and if people want to come we usually end up having a Rdm or Thf added to that. Granted both the Blm and Blu/Brd is dualbox but still. I think if you going to try to say "Lowman" is Duo only then we need to fix our terms.

nothing for me to grellow anymore

even if i need it my thf will become blm/brd. i dont care if it drop 1-2 lesser paper or 1 lesser T2 items

and my nin + whm can cover 10 WS for atma, if it fails do again np

for farming KI, eg. my apademak, i dont need any papers. so my thf becomes war to proc other 3 WS

thats still 3 man and yes i trio box sometimes i do with my irl friend

its not hard to find a duo partner that dual box these days and cover everything anyway

I was doing farm in Tahrongi yesterday on NIN+WHM+BRD and since ppl were doing cleaving on MNKs I tho why I cant on NIN? So I tried and ... I really regret I havent tried it much earlier ( already finished Chloris and was 37/50 Glavoids when yesterday). Its very easy and pretty fast. Maybe not as fast as MNK/sam sekkanoki or WAR/sam sekkanoki 2hr but it's definitely safer and requires much less focus and single WHM for rare cures. WS did 1300-1700 (100-300tp). I was pulling myself on NIN (usually 15-20 coeurls but also did Cocks and Gnats) in evasion set. From first WS to last it was about 30-60sec. Never was in danger. Big advantage of this is that you can farm last missing KIs with NIN. Even more cool is that Aeolian Edge is dex/int so I took RR+gales+ultimate and RR was more then enough to fast kill Adze and Minhacao between pulls. I would safe many hours If I would try that earlier.
