fStr of 21 should require something on the order of dStr of 80, vs base mob vit of ~5, so 85 str. 132 str should be more than sufficient.

    Base+fStr = 125 + 21 = 146

WSC alpha is 0.85, not 0.86.

    Vit of 83+46 = 129 * 60% = 77.4 > 77 * 0.85 = 65.45 > 65

    Total base damage of 146 + 65 = 211

Max damage of 2334 relative to base damage is 11.062 (fTP * pDif).

Expect pDif of max damage to be between 3.10 and 3.15 (not sure how many samples you took, so allowing for slightly lower 'max'). Extracting from the above value gives fTP a range of between 3.568 and 3.512.

If fTP is 3.5, required pDif to reach 2334 damage would be 3.1605, which isn't feasible. If fTP is 3.6, required pDif to reach 2334 damage would be 3.073; believable if the number of samples was on the low side. Should be able to reach up to about 2390 (depending on rounding) with a 3.6 fTP. If max doesn't go above 2360, can use a 3.55 fTP. You'd want about 50 total weaponskills to be pretty certain of getting within a few points of the max.

You listed two 0.1 values. Were you using gorget and/or belt? That changes the results. Really not even sure what the whole last line is supposed to represent.
Yeah, might have punched the alpha (0.85) in wrong. The two +0.1's were in the wrong place, accidentally put them with pDIF instead of fTP, so that (from your corrected calculations) yields 3.2 (2.2 base + 1.0 crit) pDIF, 11.062/3.2=3.4568.
3.4568 - 0.1 (gorget) - 0.1 (belt) =3.2568... Sample size was extremely small (<20), just wanted to get a general idea before going to class.
Something else I just remembered was that I had emp+2 legs on, which give a bonus to critical hit damage, so that needs to be corrected for as well (I found to be 10% bonus). Is it known where that is applied, or will the tests need to be rerun?

Well, you using a belt is actually kind of irrelevant to the calculations he did. I'd have gotten the same number, but apparently I shouldn't operate calculators in the morning. Gorget and Belt would just be a subtraction off the final number, and don't affect pDIF at all.

Were you wearing Crit damage+% gear?

Yeah, I edited the post above yours to reflect the mistakes I made + the crit dmg + legs. The 3.2 of pDIF and end result of fTP calculations weren't large enough for me to notice before leaving for class.
If crit dmg% + is applied at the end, then it should be:
    floor(2334*(10/11))=2121
    2121/(125+13+floor(0.86*(0.6*(83+46)))=10.44
10.44/(2.2+1.0)= fTP of 3.06, which is quite an odd number... Still, Quietus's fTP is 3.0 and is a similar WS, so I would not be surprised if that's what it was.

    2334/(211*1.1*3.15) = 2.9928....

So yeah, looks like about 3 fTP to me.

Sounds good to me. Thanks for the help with the math.

And given that it says "Deals Triple Damage" an fTP of 3 would fit right in with that.

Given that Sidewinder's description says quadruple damage and has a 5.0 fTP mod, I had no confidence in that whatsoever.

    The 3.2 of pDIF
You keep saying this so I'ma stop you for a sec. 3.15 is the hard cap. Cap values at 3.0, then you have a 1.00~1.05 randomizer, leading to a maximum 3.15 value.

Ah, didn't know that... makes sense though now that I'm reading further on it. At any rate, looking over Byrthnoth's math it seems he was aware of that, and the conclusion (3.0 fTP) should be accurate.

I thought "Deals Triple Damage" meant it triples whatever the final damage calculation is? Isn't that why Blade:Hi and Rudra Storm do like 5k since it deals Triple/Quadruple Damage? Also can someone explain the math behind why Ukko's Fury does stupid damage? Does it have an attack modifier like Gekko or something? On Bluffalo my Drakesbane with like RR/VV/GH +150 STR and +120 DEX with a D112 weapon with +10% WS damage and 900+ attack only does about 3-4k but Ukko's Fury can spike at like 6-7k and seems like 3k is the minimum with a well equipped WAR. Ukko's is only a 2.0 fTP with 2 hits and 60% STR. Arent the fTP of Drakebane/Ukko the same since
2.0fTP x 2hits= 1.0fTP x 4hits? Only major difference being the WSC STR difference of 10%. Bluffalo are PLD mobs so they're not as squishy, so I can't figure out why Ukkos is so awesome, the only explanation I can fabricate is that it has a a hidden +attack like Y/G/K/Spinning Slash, or super frequent DAs. (The Ukko's I've seen were mostly from the NQ+2 Empyrean btw).

Errr.... you have a few things going on there and I'm not sure what to correct first. I'm just going to make a list:
    1) We know that the "Triples damage" from Rudra's/etc and the "Quadruples damage" from Sidewinder are actually just high fTP. We calculate what their fTP would be (absorbing the potential "triples damage" term into it), and then we put on a gorget. Gorget increases our damage as if we'd added 0.1 to fTP, so we know there is no tripling going on. If there was tripling, we'd have expected it to increase our measured fTP by 0.3.

    2) The first hit can have a non-0 fTP, future hits are always 1 fTP. So Drakesbane has an fTP of 4.0 while Ukko's has an fTP of 3.0, both assuming no gorgets/belts or DAs/TAs. Yeah, Drakesbane is a freaking beastly weaponskill. Also, the 6-7k spikes you're seeing are probably from Triple Attacks, which you give up when you use GH. I really doubt GH is competitive with Atma of the Apocalypse for Dragoon, unless you're using the OAT polearm probably. 15% chance of doing triple damage and getting 3x TP vs. 20% chance of doing double damage and getting the same TP return.
    Drakesbane with belt+gorget = 4.2 fTP, with 10% DA and 15% TA as well, 4.97 (50% STR)
    Ukko's with belt+gorget = 3.2 fTP, with 30% DA and 15% TA as well, 4.31 (60% STR)

Depending which polearm you're using (OAT?), you could be taking a big hit on base damage and fSTR there. If you're not using Atma of the Apocalypse, you're taking a hit on effective average fTP and max fTP, but gaining on WS damage regularity.
    Drakesbane with belt+gorget = 4.2 fTP, with 10% DA, 4.4 fTP (50% STR)

To make sure I understand this FTP discussion, then Stringing Pummel, the pup ws, has an effective FTP of 5.75, since .75 for hit one and all extra hits are 1.0. Victory smite is only an FTP of 5.25 by contrast.

Therefore Smite is really only better for a pup who can really stack his mods? But then again even if you could hit 200 str in abyssea after gear for an extra 120 base dmg, a pup who stacked 200 str and like 120 vit would have total mods of +64 dmg, giving smite an edge, but not a huge one?

Just to throw it out there, Studio Gobli is listing Stringing Pummel to have STR% + VIT% = 70% but no specific % for each, saying 30-40% STR and 30-40% VIT.

Not that it matters but it helps Stringing Pummel a bit in comparison.

In addition, we don't know if the WS adds a bonus critical % like Drakesbane or none like Rampage. So if Victory Smite has a higher critical % than Stringing Pummel, you are going to have a consistently higher damage from VS.
