Going from 92->142 is ~ 54% increase.

If you use magic of an element you have potency merits in thats another 10 MAB. 102->152 is 49% increase, and still wins easy.

So yea, it makes sense that Lv 90 Staff is highest magic damage.

50mab is a 26% increase, 2.42/1.92 = 26% using your example.

[[152-89] * 2.299 +828 ] 1.30 * 1.92 = 2428

[[152-89] * 2.299 +828 ] * 2.42 = 2354

So outside abyssea 50mab staff shouldnt be winning either. The math is showing its not winning, so either something is up with the tests, or the MAB on levi is being calculated seperate from the mab step.

If he's using the aftermath to test, it's going to be enough to put him over 30% with that gear, would only have to give minimum 4 MAB to do that. Also, if he is using aftermath, the magic defense down effect from Vidohunir could also be confounding the results a bit.

As for the casting time difference, with AF3+2 head and /RDM, you should be capping or at least getting very close to capped casting time reduction. If not capped, there's a lot more fast cast options now that are much easier than doing 6 different staff trials to completion.

Wow, I'm dumb. Thanks for pointing that out =/. I don't know why I didn't notice that earlier. Yea you're right, it should def be losing even outside Abyssea. Maybe bean can toss in some tests for us as a naked BLM on Lv0 mobs outside a starter city. Since their INT is known to be 6, it should be easy to back calculate and see exactly what the staff is adding.

If anything at least it finally beats HQ lvl 51 staves. But from some rough maths with his gear and beyond/ultimate atmas you'd need ~83 MAB on the staff to beat magian +2, slightly less for ice nukes.

Outside abyssea ~60 MAB on the staff would be enough.

Magian is producing consistent 1973 blizz5 and because I have limited time this morning I cannot figure out if its an Iceday proc or not. Testing with different spells will have to wait until after class today.

1973 and 2038 check out fine. The levi staff is only giving 50 mab. 2242 is a day proc. So ya 50mab wont be beating anything inside or outside of abyssea with a fully geared blm. Its only 3.2% better on a naked blm. Once you start adding in the mab gear(and atmas inside abyssea) that increase it had over mag+2 staff drops.

[[98-6]*2.299 +828] * 1.3 *1.46 = ~1973

[[98-6]*2.299 +828] * 1.96 = 2037

2037 * 1.10 = 2240

*note* the small difference in damage 1-2 points could be from the tier5 multiplier as it seems to be 2.3 for this vs 2.299 and also decimal rounding.

Just finished 85 Kannagi, I'll put up a pic later, Arthars while you're here what's a good strat for apak horns? I've never actually fought it before.
I wanna beat rush before they fix it no matter how bad it is atm, there's like 10 Kannagi on my server and I'd like to get a head start.

yes, havn't replaced them just yet, been working on ws gear more than my tp gear (since haste is now capped) and with full-time student + full-time work, my ff time is severely reduced lol x.x;
