grats! though as someone who played DRK and loved it for so many years, i can't imagine why you'd take the effort to upgrade that thing...quietus is so, so bad.

Playing around w/ it now, doesn't seem all that bad. Messing around w/ it in Abyssea-Altepa. Quietus averaging about 3kish give or take. Crits on TP w/ RR on go for about 1200ish when ODD procs.

As for Caladbolg atma, other than what Taint suggested, you can go with AoA/SQ/PB for a 5 hit build. I am not sure if SB is better than griffon claw so if you want higher WS damage, I think griffon claw is the better choice. With a 5 hit build, RR becomes slightly less valuable so I would go with AoA instead. SQ and PB are needed for the 5 hit.

I was messing around with a few different combos, just testing the waters. The combo that ended up having the best results as far as what I had tested was VV/RR/GC. All Quietus were between 2500-3500 with that setup. I could probably go higher swapping out RR for something but those 1200 crits when ODD procced was pretty nice.

I think RR is a staple. Even if you don't have a crit WS, it's such a large increase to your melee damage, I'd find it hard it wouldn't be in the top 3 atma to use.

That being said, I'm realli skeptical on the 2.5k-3.5k WS average with Quietus. You don't happen to have any decent length parses, would you?

i'm skeptical as well. I'm geared fairly well and 1900-2100 was the norm with my WoE version. VV/RR/smiting blow or apoc for third.

i do have kparser, but i wasnt parsing at the time, merely just messing around w/ the WS to see how it performed. I did have Red Curry Buns too. But i consider good food a normal thing. If there anything you want me to try to SS on or parse on or w/e lemme know, I'll be more than happy to do it next time I go out.

Next time you play with the Scythe for over an hour, parse it and post! And yea, I use red curry a lot myself!

I wasn't doubting your ability to cap cratio with quietus consider its 10% ignore defense at 100% plus your food etc etc, but I always thought the ceiling of the WS is awful with the low ftp.

One thing I'm kind of curious about though. I did do quite a substantial amount of WS's while I was in Abyssea-Altepa. Considering I ran around completing all the Dominion Ops in the zone. And I really don't think I saw a single Quietus double attack. VV & Brutal were on for all of them. Now maybe I could have just gotten unlucky.
I'll definitely be watching for that next time I go out though.
