What's the consensus (If any) on (a) letting people pop an NM for clear to TIII or for TIII Trial Weapons drops and (b) letting people get the kill for a particular NM for trial weapons clearance without lotting any weapons (Trial or otherwise)?

I doubt there's a consensus yet, but in my linkshell if you obtain a t3 pop on your own time you can keep all of the weapon materials. This only applies to linkshell members.

As far as killing t2/t3 for people who just need the kill recorded, we'll spam them for members if they need and bystanders are welcome to leech.

Not necessarily. The DPS numbers posted on various FFXI pages do not include fSTR, so they're more or less completely useless numbers anyways.

Unless you are comparing a Great Axe to a sword, I don't see how fSTR will come into play.

A weapon with higher DPS usually means they have either high dmg (higher fSTR if it hits the next tier), or low delay. If it has higher damage then the fSTR will favor it. Low delay while not hurting hit build = more WS, which will almost certain outweight the less than 1% you gain from one more fSTR if you are using a 2 hand weapon. If you are using one hand weapon, the delay will have to be very very low for a weapon of less damage to have higher DPS unless it is OCC. type of weapon, and it is hard to image not losing a hit build with very very low delay. And most of the time you are not capping your fSTR on anything meaningful anyway.

It is still a rather meaningless stat, but it wouldn't be because fSTR isn't considered, it would be that most weapons don't just have a dmg and a deley, there are usually more than just that.

You're talking about Nobilis with DMG: 47, Delay: 236 or Soulsaber with DMG:43, Delay:230, Str+3/Dex+4, Attack+12/Acc+8?

I mean Nobilis, as it is at the closest branch point. Soulsaber, while perhaps better, would have taken completely different trials. I'm guessing someone speedy will have finished a OAT weapon by the time I kill Drooling Daisey 3 times.

Doing Nobilis if the OAT isn't any good would be me trying to justify the time I spent on the stupid NMs I've camped so far (although really I'd probably be better off just cutting my loses).

Sorry if this been asked already, but im currently on Athame stage where you need 10x Eye of Verthandi.. Do you need to have the dagger equipped the whole time fighting the Pixie NM and when the eyes drop to you?

Got 2 yesterday, but moogle is saying I currently have 0 / 10 Eye of Verthandi, and I did not have the dagger on the entire fight. Only had it on for the first 5-10mins.

Well, tryied trading the 2 eyes I have already, but it wont take them. And seeing as you can only trade 8 at a time, you should be able to trade them as you get them.

Already tryied, same result. Also tryied trading with the weapon equipped.

Its okay, knew it would sound bit stupid.
But yeah, I'll have to try this. Also what a SGM told me. But said he also had few other reports about these quest in last couple of days. Will just wait and see.
