It's rare but it definitely happens. I don't have video proof (lol?) but there are many others with similar testimonials. I've seen the first and last hour overlap on all of the different types of weapons. The three of you are just lucky to have not experienced it yet, I have no reason to lie about this and I promise you I am completely capable of checking the in game clock before claiming or popping an NM.
His clock is fast duh.
Have also never seen non-blunt blue procs from 22:00-22:59. Sample size is much smaller for 6:00-6:59 but I don't think I've seen any non-blunts in that window either.
This is a call for a BG member that loves #'s. Looking to compare Full AF3+2 on Corsair vs. Corsair's Tricorne (adds 5 damage to base damage), Schutzen Mittens (QD TP by 2.5) & Mirke Wardecors (MAB+4, QD Recast Delay-4). Full AF3+2 adds 5-8% chance of triple procing on a QD shot.
Eyeballing it i'm guessing the non-af3+2 route is better mainly because of the TP gain and delay reduction of QD. I could be wrong. XD
decided to finish this, took 2 days, hardly had any competition

now to either burn our 40+ apademak pops or go do ochain ... hmmm.
One possible explanation for this is that sometimes (well, always for me) timestamp does not correspond properly with the Vana'diel clock. Mine is off by like a minute or so. Maybe you guys are looking at timestamp instead? It's never been off by me as long as I go from the /clock command.
I cannot speak for Atoreis, but timestamp is not involved. Wow at Massimo shooing me away for suggesting something a few people have been fortunate enough to have not experienced.
The weakness thread is available for other testimonials. There are more on pages before it, this is not a new idea that I am suggesting - although it does bring back memories to the responses when time of day was initially suggested for procs, but I guess that's typical of some posters.
e: The link provided leads to page 70 post 1395 by Jornna, though it's very likely that different board settings may lead others astray.
I can understand if you have aggroed a mob before 22 and claimed it past, making you think it's turned to blunt, but abyssea have been out for long enough now for something like this to not have gone unnoticed (especially now that we have discernment). I have never seen it not be blunt, even at 22:01, and I've claimed/popped/killed a lot of mobs in that timeframe. It's like people who claimed to have gotten no KI from 3 red kills in a row.. I just don't buy it, and I still firmly believe that whoever's experiencing these things are doing something wrong and not realizing it.
Basically, with the amount of people popping and claiming mobs between 22:00~23:00 every day and not reporting this stuff, you'll have to ask yourself, could you have made a mistake? Yes, you could, and you did.
i did have a mule that didnt get caraboose atma after red proc the first fight while another mule got, and then got it in the 2nd fight tho
seen with my very own eyes but no big deal
as for aggroing, or someone aggroing before 22:00 and then CLAIM after 22:00, yes, it will not be blunt but will be the weakness u actually aggroed....friend did this on turul and it was scythe weapon skill when he claimed it at 22:10 after aggroing earlier and took turul for a walk
Blunt is 22:00 to 06:59
Yea, alot of ppl think it is from 22:00 to 6:00, but it is 22:00 to 6:59 for some very odd reason. Odd being that it is 9 hours, meaning that the 3 damage types are not equally splitted.
I'd almost swear I've claimed as late as 7:15 and still had it be blunt.
Interesting, I guess most of us observe the blunt vs piercing interval since it is a target time for blue !!, i wonder if other intervals contains such murky grounds, 13-14? 21-22?
I have to confess I don't actually check the actual time of claiming if it's not close to blunt time, so maybe one should try to kill some at other intervals? It does seem odd that blunt is the only one that has such pattern.
A lot of people swear dia can proc yellow. That absorb spells can proc yellow. That -drg breath- can proc yellow. THF knife needs to go on the main hand. WS kills lower drop rate. /cheer generates hate. The list goes on and on. People simply need to accept that they've made a mistake, remembered the time wrong, didn't notice if something went passive, screwed up and so forth. If something as common as claiming/popp'ing at 22:00 for blunt happens hundreds or maybe thousands of times a day and only a tiny fraction of the population is able to claim something that's unique from what the rest of the population is experiencing, then the most likely explanation is because they did something wrong.
