thanks to friends (anli bitefom) holding KI for me to make bukhis a fast one(1.5 days :D)

alot of holy water is sacrificed in the process
I'm actually quite curious as to how that holds up against the gun. I have 2 rng's in my LS 1 doing gun for his rng & Cor the other doing bow. From what I have "seen" the Gandiva can push out some major dmg, the gun is MAB based right? I know rng can stack as much MAB as Cor and from what I was told the bullets you use have no effect on the WS. Anyone know the difference in dmg between these 2 and the rate they can push out WS? Sorry if my thoughts are a little random its 6 AM here >.<

will test against my cousin's gun this friday, i need to gear up....

jishnu is alot harder to setup than wildfire imo

and yes i may not use ranger much, but i have nothing to do at this point of time in FFXI.

i dont really play console except for winning eleven 2011, which i cant really find a good opponent yet. SC2 also dont fancy me compared to WC3 (wasted 40 bucks on thatgame zzz)

Aion is dead game too, which is the other mmo i still play.... just gotta help with emps for my friends, gear up more jobs until the major VU

Whatever mang, let the haters hate. Gotta catch'em all.

I'm impressed that you can keep at it. I halfassedly started Ukon the other day and ended up walking away feeling like I'd much rather nail down Striking Flourish's crit rate than kill another 25 Glavoids, 30 Itza, and 40-50 Orthrus.

I would be curious about Ranger maining gun aswell. Currently about half done with 85 Gun just for Cor brews, But would be fun to embarrass Buddy with Gandiva.

My first assumption would be though setting MAB atma's to improve Gun damage is ruining and chance of normal R-acc? or Ranged power for things like ODD? Jushnu's break into 4-6k on standard mobs though whenever I saw it on Bosses / Hero's ect was slowing it down pretty badly to like 2-3k max.

If you're planning for post-Abyssea, the Gandiva is definitely going to be the better choice for general RNG use. Jishnu's is a head and shoulders improvement over Sidewinder meaning the aftermath will always be in play, Bow has a more ideal sweetspot and you aren't susceptible to resists like Wildfire is.

Inside Abyssea, Wildfire is extremely powerful due to the influence of Atmas being able to cover RNGs lack of MAB along with the likelihood of being resisted on neutral targets being inconsequential. However outside Abyssea Wildfire has moments where you're more likely to be using Slug due to resists meaning you'll lose the aftermath whereas Jishnu's remains constant outside and inside Abyssea.

Both weapons and weaponskills are improvements for RNG but my money is on the Gandiva RNG in the world beyond Abyssea. But who the fuck cares? Get both weapons, the RNG emps are among the easiest to obtain.

I wouldnt consider Bukhis as "easy", since its ability to strip HP buff and then do 2k ruinous makes it harder than most heroes NM's

I'd have to agree with this sentiment. Just finished the Bukhis stage of my bow on Sunday and I really don't get how he's "easy". Sure, risk of wiping is low, but.. certainly not "easy".

I base this off never, in my whole life, seeing Stun resist outside of these conditions. Someone (Thorny I think) came up with a good theory a couple of years ago regarding day/weather's effects on resist rates in terms of resist tiers (i.e. if your Stun lands with its lowest normally-available resist tier and Earthsday/weather procs, it will fully resist). This theory is backed up by multiple people's experiences back when BLMs used to spend countless hours soloing in Zhayolm - you might, once every couple of sessions, encounter a full Stun resist during Earthsday/weather, but it was very rare. Outside of that, Stun never fully resisted, which indicates that its lowest possible resist tier outside of those conditions isn't a full resist.
Best example I can think of is Cerberus.

Doesn't build resistance nor is innately resistant to stun (never seen an RDM/BLM/DRK have issues) yet landing it as NIN/DRK was not at all reliable.

Cerberus does, however, have huge innate magic evasion across the board. This would be good evidence that stun works, acc wise, as other enfeebling magic but simply has a massive innate macc bonus rather than a unique property affecting it's land rate. Enough of a bonus to overcome extreme magic evasion for a job with native dark magic skill, but not enough for a stave-less melee/DRK (would stun in hades).

Gotta love BG nerds trying to be clever . Try reading what is being discussed. He claimed stun would get an extra resist rate. Your post doesnt show an extra resist rate. Prove me that bio is getting an extea resist rate on lightsdays. Cos you know I can do the same useless comment with stun : 5 s stun, 5 s stun, 5 s stun, 1 s stun. Come back when you have not epsilon an IQ.

im actually surprised that bukhis was easier than i expected O_O my pocket thf/blm for stun and whm as well, + my friend's WHM, we kinda stun all apoc ray and its easy from there

lethal triclip is just luck.... it can hit it after paralyga/bindga and theres nothing u can do about it

well anli is pld/war using ochain and almace...so even if shit happens on my end....her buffs will never get stripped

but still, bukhis got mad tonne of HP...he is almost as strong/tricky as hero T3 bosses and random fucking curse that cant be cursna after 12 holy water is BS

even we got 3 stuns, it doesnt stop him from retaining that TP and if the game wants you dead, your dead

as for gun, its really easy to gear. Plain AGI onry gear and MAB secondary. well theres nothing out there that can really resist it yet but we'll see when shit is added outside for lvl 90s. I still think gun is more of a cor thing with quick draw that cor have, the agi, the mabs, the mag accs, and rolls.

bow need str(damage), dex(mod) and agi(acc for 3 hit WS), so need to find a good mix

You said does bio get resisted, I demonstrated how it gets resisted. The bio DoT effect cant be resisted (short of any straight up magic immunity), the initial damage can be resisted.

    case in point
mobs that are are so damn resistant to dark, they might as well be immune:
    most undead
bukhis (since its part of active discussion, I can tell you that bukhis is so fucking resistant to dark that brewed cataclysm's still get fully resisted)
    demons
    dark elemental (duh)

and yet, of all these mobs, the DoT effect of bio will always land for its full duration. The only way you will not land the DoT effect of bio is:
    Player casts Bio II.
    The Enemy resists the spell.

regarding days of the week, I believe theres a correlation of day/element to macc as well.

There is definitely a correlation between day/weather and MACC, or at least resist tiers. Anyone who's had an ES nuke resisted under those conditions (more Pudding anecdotes) can tell you that.

@ the person citing Cerberus, are you certain you weren't fighting it on Earthsday or in Earth weather? Weather (double and single) is pretty common in Zhayolm.

This is pretty much what I came up with too - that Stun doesn't have some sort of unique property - after being in one of the LS that essentially locked down Cerberus back with ToAU became available. Our NIN/DRK would frequently be resisted and there was no real correlation on day/weather as to when it would resist and when it wouldn't, but as an RDM/DRK on Gates duty, I would Stun pretty well with only the occasional resist, again with no real correlation to day or weather.

Cerberus is a strange mob altogether though, as any summoner with Diabolos could tell you. Nether Blast can experience weird variations in damage on this NM, including meeting the normal damage cap, or ending up being lower or higher than the damage cap, as though Cerberus becomes weaker and stronger to magic in terms of both potency and resistance by some unknown trigger. This probably also explains why Atonement seems to react weirdly to Cerberus on occasions (occasionally exceeds cap, occasionally reduced damage despite max hate, etc.).

Another spell that's fairly comparable to Stun in terms of resistance is Flash, though there's not much reason for a job that has no native Divine skill to be casting it. I'm more than sure it has similar magic accuracy properties to Stun in that its base accuracy seems to be really high, even on mobs that normally reduce light damage (Aerns and stuff come to mind). Usually only mobs that have some sort of near-complete resistance to light elemental magic tend to resist the spell.

Day/weather probably do have something to do with magic accuracy, but I don't think its the determinant as to why you might encounter a resisted Stun on a mob that doesn't feature some kind of innate resistance to it.

I'm fairly sure I've had ES nukes resist in non-day-related conditions. I could go test this on a hoard of low level monsters later on RDM/BLM, I guess.

Dont have to test this, it has long been established that ES doesnt by pass the 95% cap. Since it has 2 resist states however you will not see a resist message on sleepga until 400 ish mobs. Half duration resists are frequent if you do trains of mobs, some wake up at 30s.
