All that doesn't sound too bad, easier than I figured at least I never really tried to fight any of the Bria trigger NM's. Sounds like a nice project to keep me busy tho. Thanks for the tips.

I solo'd a briareus set and bria in just over an hour in zone the other night as nin/dnc. I came into the zone with a set of pop items for the 3 pre-bria NMs, and was lucky to go 3/4 on KI's from them. Had to fight the ice spikes one twice for KI.

Doing the ki gigas solo on anything other than nin/war is stupid because you lose out on a ton of red procs. It is also not overly complicated to deaggro any of them to reset proc if needed. There is no reason not to get ki 100% of the time. The only one where you will need to pop meds on occasion is the catapult gigas.

This statement kinda contradicts itself. Why does sub job matter if you can easily deaggro any of them to reset proc? He was solo NIN/DNC for cures.

I do agree that if you can obviously /WAR is best, but to call it stupid then to state you can easily reset red is retarded.

Dunno what it's like for you, but judging from a lot of what I hear and see there's the risk of people jacking your NM as you try and re-set it.

I've been working on helms for almace and have been using pld for something different (sick of being nin, war, mnk for everything) and so I can play with my new Ochain. I go /dnc for dagger procs and for stun, and I love the stun just for the sake of not having to deal with shock spikes on the ranger gigas. Also, if you get hit for 0 damage after Ice Roar then the monk gigas won't get ice spikes. If I keep phalanx up he only will randomly crit for any damage and he only gets spikes if he does that. I didn't see it mentioned, but can you do that with just evading also?

NIN already has native sword and club, so /pld doesn't give any higher skill. They do get slightly higher staff skill (by 6) but drastically lower polearm skill (by 18 ). You can still proc with both and you still need merits for staff.

Provided everyone in the PT does not need to zone, it should be impossible to steal if you claim whilst it's still red. As in:
- Last player on hate list dies
- Monster idles for 2-3sec (STILL RED)
- Monster goes white and gets nabbed

Claim in the red period. Still get KI.

ffxi online isn't about cooperating with other people to accomplish things, it's about showing other people how much better you are than them at final fantasy
