Finished Lv90 Daurdabla yesterday, thanks to Hyden/Chexmix on Asura.

Just wanted to add some information I haven't seen anyone mention. Daurdabla only needs to be equipped when initially gaining the 3rd buff song, once the 3rd buff song is up, you don't need Daurdabla equipped to maintain it. For example, you could cast Ballad II/III with Crooner's Cithara and Ballad I with Daurdabla, then recast Ballad I with Crooner's Cithara to gain the extra +song benefits, and continue rebuffing indefinitely without losing the 3rd buff (assuming you don't let any songs drop).

For example, BRD has 3x Ballad up from buffing mages, and attempts to buff melee using 2x March with Faerie Piccolo and Minuet V with Apollo's Flute, the BRD would end up with 2x March + Minuet while the melee would end up with only 1x March + Minuet.

should wait until it's level ninety tbh; according to ah.com, there's already, what, 600+ of them made thus far, and that's not even accounting the ones that aren't even scanned (jp, people who play on ps2/360 due to lack of the superior system, etc)

imo acceptable 85's: Dagger, GAX, Club, Bow, Axe, Sword, Katana. The weapons "finished", and the 3rd stage NM pops aren't exactly convenient...you have to go the red!! route, and the pop items aren't really feasible, since the NM's that drop it are stingy, and they're a nuisance to cleave up since you cant really build amber.

Never ever ever acceptable 85: h2h, plm, scythe, staff, shield (passing 75 color souls is impressive tho), GKT, Gun, GSD. If you're persistent and lucky with pops, you can cleave up all your KI's and kills in a day. There is NO reason whatsoever to post a lv85 version of those weapons because the 85-90 push is fucking cakewalk. Even if for whatever reason you dont want to do the cleaving route, the NM's for the lv90 items are 10-15 minute timed spawns where the KI is guaranteed via red!!...instead of killing Anshereth and hoping TK hide drops.

I'd put harp in the "ok to post at 85" slot, but its useless at 85.

I think posting any empyreans is kind of lol at this point. No offense to anyone but shit is seriously too easy. I could be alone with this opinion, but I doubt it.

I don't begrudge people their little joys/victories. I realize its been said before, but not everyone has 6-8 friends who are overly competent (non-casual) that can knock stuff out like their machines. I'm not trying to troll or stir anything up, but let people have their moment. Some of them never dreamed of having a relic/mythic, now they have an extremely powerful weapon, but for those who suck. Sure troll the fuck out of them.

I don't know that Dagger and GAxe are really that okay at 85, just because the 85->90 mob is so easy. Orthrus has to be about the easiest 85->90 monster. Paralyna, Paralyna, Paralyna, Cure 5, Paralyna, Paralyna, Cure 6, Paralyna, Cure 5, Cure 6, Paralyna, etc.

Duoable without danger. I could solo him if it wasn't for his paralyze spam.

If you had 4 people, I think you could get 75 Orthrus claws faster than 50 of most Upgrade 2 items.

orthrus has his own way of throwing a mini-fit, 3 acherion flamesin rapid succession. im 47/75 claws and ive seen this about 2-3 times. but im kinda working on the 90 and 80 stages at the same time, havent started on 85 yet

If you're feeding him TP with an ally of people whacking at him (aka being retarded), sure. I usually kill it with 1 or 2 DD on it and never have any portion of the fights get even remotely dangerous. I've done probably 5x75 claws so far, too.

All three of the ToAU HNM paths are relatively 'easy', I think keeping them at 85 is more to do with not wanting to just buy your way through it at 4-12 mil (65k Jac wing, 100k TKH, 200k Sisy on my server; ~60 items each) per weapon.

I got by with about 4mil worth of TK Hides (100-200k each). We made a thread where it was barely considered reasonable to post bad 200mil weapons, but we can't expect people to spend 4mil on their (often superior) Empyreans before posting?

Also, I've never seen Orthrus throw an unpredictable minifit in over 100 claws. The worst he does is Firaga IV -> Acheron's, and as long as you keep a reasonable WHM to DD ratio that's not an issue.

If you would've been quick at getting claws right as the update came out, you could've sold mantles like I did to cover the cost + more of every pop item. By the time you were out of mantle buyers, you and all your mules would be capped on +2 mats and you could sell those too.

I've never seen it get rough with 2 ppl meleeing as well.

I was actually pretty quick after the update, but I gave the mantles away for free to anyone I knew in zone. That 4mil was the only amount I'd spent in months, and I haven't spent jack shit since then either.

Didn't say it's a reasonable excuse, just the predominant one. But Empyreans don't cost money in as directly a way Relics/Mythics do, and it's not uncommon to see people in this thread posting their screenshots while having less than 1mil gil (though that could also be them keeping it on a mule).
