For our group personally, we've come to the conclusion that one drop is forced on grellow while one is based on TH (for the mobs that they added new drops too).

It works the same as everything else. Grellow increases the drop rate on both items. The drop rate on one just starts at 0%, so without grellow you never get it. The other item still gets an increased drop rate from grellowing.

A) Who still needs +2 crap these days.
B) The drop rate is hardly spectacular on stones with grellow, but the drop rate on jewels is pretty high even with it.
C) It would be exponentially faster to have kept the WAR on WAR and just killed it. If you really need stones, you could use the time you save to farm Bukhis with the bonus of gandiva or farsha items and whatever body stuff he drops.

With my resources and time it was far more beneficial to farm sets with 13/13 red, then do nm with th7+ and grellow, I was able to finish my wife's and my feet +2 for ALL the jobs listed on Stone of Voyage, and 85% of our Briareus dropped double helms. I was dreading having to multibox Bukhis and deal with his random bullshit so I'm happy I could 100% max out Stone of Voyage on the way to 2 empy weapons.

Might take a few minutes longer to kill, but you save plenty more time since you don't have to farm as many pops.

If you are farming Bri for +2, you are farming the wrong NM. We farm him for weapons.

This. If people really want the +2 items, I'd rather take an extra minute or two to proc bria than have to build another pop set.

Or kill faster, and pop the next one. [If you really want the +2, amber KI are faster than walking around the zone.]

I can see the logic on something that drops 2 or 3 +2 items. I can't see it on stuff that only drops 1 of what you need. Maybe you could make an exception for the stuff that drops Scars-zone cards just because VNM are inconvenient. Doing it for an item that drops from Bukhis and Durinn is just stupid.

Did ~70 Brias to finish a Sword and Katana recently. We never once saw a Stone of Voyage without grellow being procced, and then it was 100%. The Jewel of Voyage appeared to be TH based, because the 15 or so we did without TH dropped 1, maybe 2 Jewels, and the others dropped it about 75% with TH8+. Also done 25~ CCs and 30~ Sobeks, Stone of Wieldance off CC hasnt dropped without grellow, and Stone of Ardor hasnt dropped off Sobek without Grellow. Just our observations, and we've done well by it so far.

Did 60 gems tonight. Got several full drops [Coin and card] with no !! yellow. Got many with !! yellow and still only the "base" [which would be card, minus the supposed only !! yellow coin.]

Pointless argument really, but recently farming 50 helms always killing with thf + whm I never had a stone drop without triggered grellow through ninjitsu or light/dark day. Was paying attention to it as well, because I just finished WAR on my mule and needed the stones for WAR +2 feet.

Does yellow not effect weapon item drops? I thought it did, if it indeed doesn't then this is going to make killing 75+ glavoids a lot less painful.

I came back to the game after an almost ~2 year break last month. Blue = Equipment, Red = Atma/Key Item, and I thought Yellow = Items?

Yellow is items but it doesn't affect empyrean upgrade items. It's mainly synthesis material drops etc. except for some oddball stuff.

So, it effects empyrean armor upgrade items and synth materials, but not empyrean weapon upgrade items? Weird.

Only thing that helps with empyrean items is TH.

Even /THF or dipper yuly seem to make a pretty noticeable difference in double drop rate for empy items.
