To be honest much more of an achievement than yet another Masamune or other such easy weapon.

5/8 atm, I'd so do light damage if it wasn't the same damn name as cure pot staff.

I've been doing these [HQ+2 staff trials] lately. One of the key elements I've found in being time efficient is to have a good PDT build and some defense food. You can seriously abuse -ga/-ja spells this way. Unless noted otherwise, I recommend doing 10 or 15 mobs at a time for the first four trials as the mobs are weak and easy to hold until weather appears. It's better than chancing it to a single weather occurrence. As to where to go, here's what I'd suggest. Note that, for the weather trials, anywhere with weather and the appropriate mobs will work as you only have to kill either 10 or 15 of them. I'll list the common ones anyways.

    Weather Tracker: http://ff11info.com/bazaar/en/weather.php

    Trial 790

Do this in either Grauberg S or Wajaom Woodlands, whichever has the better weather forecast.

    Trial 791

Wajaom Woodlands or The Boyahda Tree.

    Trial 841

Dynamis Jeuno (pets) or level sync in Ranguemont Pass.

    Fire

    Trial 792

Anywhere with Fire Weather works, although more than likely you will have to do this on Firesday. I did Fear Dearg in Abyssea - Altepa on a Firesday. The entire trial was done in less than ten minutes.

    Trial 793

I did this on Firesday in Abyssea - Misareaux. The Overking Apkallu are ideal as they are Monk mobs. I was able to complete both Trial 792 and Trial 793 in a single Firesday.

    Trial 798

Treacle Slugs in Abyssea - Attohwa. There are about ten or eleven.

    Trial 799

Shore Spiders in Abyssea - Vunkerl. Be careful not to aggro Athamas [Does not link with Shore Spiders but Shore Spiders will link with]. If you do, stun it and conflux it.

    Trial 1658

Black Merino in Abyssea - La Theine Plateau. You can train quite a few of them if you follow the side of the chasm in the North-Eastern part of the map. Either way it's a bit time consuming because they are spread out.

    Trial 1659

Fear Dearg in Abyssea - Altepa.

    Trial 2170

You can't do this one inside of Abyssea. The best place I found was Ro'Maeve on the Killing Weapons and Ominous Weapons. They are low enough level that you can safely train them all up at the same time. However, this will actually slow you down because of how difficult training mobs becomes when you have an army of them following you. I broke it down into two sections. Left side right side. I started on the bottom and went left, getting them all until the middle of top area (not so high that you're seeing Infernal Weapons and Apocalyptic Weapons) and then killing them there. You also need to be somewhat careful as Ominous Weapons can Dispel your Phalanx. Just be brisk about recasting it (save Manawall for this to ensure you don't get interrupted, although you probably won't need it.)

It took me four Firaja spells to kill them all. I was dual boxing at the time though, so waiting on Firaja recast may not be ideal. You'll need at least 5 of any other ga/ja combination. You can use Sleepga between casts to Aspir them if you need to (or to safely Convert.)

    Wind

    Trial 804

Any zone with weather, just look at the tracker.

    Trial 805

Grauberg S or Wajaom Woodlands. I gathered up 15 Brass Caps and hid in a cave protecting my Brass Caps until wind weather occurred.

    Trial 810

Undead trials are sucky because you can't sleep them if you need to (unless you have a Bard around.) I recommend Abyssea - Attohwa. Schnitters work, as do the dog things (just be careful not to aggro the NM.)

    Trial 811

I did Abyssea - La Theine Plateau, although to be honest I'm wondering if there may be a better place to do this because gathering them in LTP takes a long time. Eventually I just ended up only gathering a smaller amount of them and finishing them off quickly over and over (around 7~.)

    Trial 1670

I'm on this trial now, I plan on going to LTP.

    Trial 1671

    Abyssea - Attohwa

    Trial 2176

Abyssea - Attohwa again, the Schnitter.

    Thunder

    Trial 816

Grauberg S or Vunkerl Inlet S usually, maybe The Boyahda Tree.

    Trial 817

There are gigas pets Vunkerl Inlet S that work.

    Trial 822

Chigoe in Abyssea - Attohwa. Be careful not get Tunga'd. Also it's easier to Sneak/Invis up to the point where you see Tunga, then drop your sneak and start running back.

    Trial 823

This trial sucks. I went to Den of Rancor kind of near where Hakutaku is. There are a lot of slime in the area. I ran around using Sleepga and Sleepga II on the small groups of them so that they would eventually all gather up at me. I did two groups, a smaller group and a larger group, for a total of maybe 20+ per respawn (took about 5-6 minutes extra for gathering and killing.)

    Trial 1682

Sauromugue Champaign. There are two goblins and you can kill their beetle pets.

    Trial 1683

The funguar in Abyssea - Konschtat are somewhat spread out. I did The Boyahda Tree. There are quite a few there that you can kill all at once.

    Trial 2182

I did this one in Wajaom Woodlands, although there may be a better spot somewhere.

    Ice

    Trial 824

Uleguerand Range almost always has ice weather. Xarcabard S works too and you can one shot pets here.

    Trial 825

    Worms in Uleguerand Range.

    Trial 848

Abyssea - Misereaux, the spectator mobs work well enough. Easy to aggro too.

    Trial 849

Shadow Lizards in Abbyssea - Konschtat. They don't link so it's a bit painstaking to aggro them all.

    Trial 1708

    Bees in LTP.

    Trial 1709

I did crabs in Abyssea - Grauberg, although there are crabs in Abyssea - Misereaux too which might be better, I don't know.

    Trial 2195

Wyverns in Abyssea - Konschtat. The ones in the heroes zones might be a bit dangerous to ja/ga.

Hopefully someone can write a bit about the other ones. Either way, -ga/-ja on the mobs is a bit scary if they're not Monk mobs, but it can be done. You will need a good PDT set for pulling (defense food is ideal for this) and to be quick about it. Use Manawall to make your Stoneskin last longer. Ideally you want Manafont for every pull, which is definitely possible if you have good azure lights and pull enough at once. Usually 3 spells, sometimes 4, is enough to do the trick. Make sure your macros are good as fidgeting while you're doing this will result in death. You won't be able to rely on getting two hour restore boxes when you first enter a zone. In this case, only do 3-4 at a time until you have 152+ azure light. Manawall and 2-3 spells will work in those cases and you won't need Manafont.

Previously I did all my staff trials -ga style but recently I've found it much faster to dual box blm/whm + nin (any dd will be fine i imagine, RR, GH, mounted champion, no food) keeping haste up, but not worrying about shadows. I have a stone3, stone4, stone5 macro and know that stone5 will kill from 50%, stone4 from about 35%, and stone3 from about 20%. Once the dual box DD has first mob at 40-50% I switch target and WS, which generally puts 2nd mob at 10-20%. At the same time I am nuking first mob dead, and re-targetting 3rd mob on mule. Once first mob is dead from stone 5, I stone 3 the second, meanwhile I wait until I melee the 3rd mob down to about 30% and re-target a new mob, WS, switch. Obviously I then stone4 the 3rd mob, stone 3 the 4th mob, and am already whiddling the next mob to 40% for a stone 5 kill. Trick is to keep re-positioning the blm to where you figure the DD Mule is going to target next, so even if you run 15' yalms to voke the next mob you're not ranged on nuke. I also key on blm for refill of MPs and because DD mule is pretty much always engaged whiddling mobs down, if I get backed up on mobs just turn around and nuke them down 1 at a time or with -ga/ja. With abyssea mobs who are close together you can go pretty damn fast. On good mobs like abys-mis bunnies with nice flat terrain I can do about 100-125 mobs an hour with this method. Slightly slower for shit with annoying terrain like cockatrice and coeurl in abys-attowha.

Don't get me wrong it's exhausting with all the switching while dual boxing, but it's a hell of a lot faster at least for me. As for which mobs I just type mob family into wiki, look at abyssea zones and pick the ones that do not have a 10-15 min NM respawn in the cluster. If there's something weird not in abyssea I'd ask in RQT or the older magian staff thread.

Hope this wasn't too confusing, in short I whiddle down with melee to where I can 1 shot death with a nuke whos timer is not down, retarget, repeat x thousands lol.

Treants is probably the easiest thunder stage if you have a friend who's a BLU. Go to Abyssea-Altepa, go treants, take a nap while they Whisker everything or you can feel obliged to help out; up to you. Either way, it shouldn't take more than an hour or two.

Oh right I forgot. There's an ele in the camp iirc so you could be a nice guy and take that out for them. Maybe time a ga3 in case the whisker doesn't one shot everything.

The only problem with that method is that you require a melee character. I've been trying to do staves on all my characters at the same time, so I have to do it on BLM. :<

H2H comes w/ 2, can't be separated, so its calculated in the description. DW is a choice, single wield is in description, adding offhand adds hit

I BLU burned whenever possible (Thunder had the least cleave action) even if that meant repeating 2-3x.

    Initial Trial: Treants
Light side: Spiders at the tree
Dark side: Slimes @ Rang Pass

    Fire
    Chigoes
    Birds (Abyssea La Theine)
    Slugs (Abyssea Highlands)
    Spiders (Abyssea Vunk)
    Sheep (Abyssea La Theine)
    Mandies (Abyssea Attohwa)
Evil Weapon (Sky; still BLU Burned)

    Wind
    Treants (Grauberg)
    Treants
    Skeles (Abyssea Attohwa)
    Rabbits (Abyssea Vunk)
    Flies (Abyssea La Theine)
    Worms (Abyssea Attohwa)
    Skeles (Abyssea Attohwa)

    Thunder
    Spiders at Tree
Beast (I did rabbits at tree before abyssea; my group did pet tigers at Vunk [S])
Vermin (I did pet beetle; group did Chigoes at Abyssea Attohwa)
Slimes (I did Sub-terrain/Citadel, but Dynamis-Jeuno has two pet slimes at the entrance if you plan to do with a group)
Beetles (I did pet, but for the group, I BLU Burned Beetles at Ordelle's Cave with Vathris)
    Fungaurs (Abyssea Attohwa)
    Treants (Abyssea Altepa)

    Light
    Nyzul
    Pods (Abyssea Coast)
Tigers (Abyssea Vunk; BLU Burn > Banishga III/Searing Light)
Autoexec on my friend's char to make her Auto-Tele me/Warp herself + Priest Yagudo at the Recall-Meriph crystal + Retrace scrolls
    Pixies (Abyssea La Theine)

    Ice
Pet Tigers at Xarcabard [S] (For the group, I cleaved mobs for the group at Ul Range)
    Worms (Ul Range; not Abyssea)
    Lizards (Abyssea Coast)
    Bees (Abyssea La Theine)
Crabs (Abyssea Coast; Had to repeat this 3x...)
    Wyverns (Abyssea Grauberg)

    Earth
Not sure where I did this one, but group did this at Eldieme Necropolis
Weapons and whatever aggroed (Ro'Maeve; group did Abyssea Coast pods)
Flytrap near Nashmau (I cleaved Mandies for the group at Altepa with AoE Slow move from Gnats)
Birds (Abyssea La Theine; same method)
    Sheep (Abyssea La Theine)
    Crawlers (Abyssea Vunk)
    Jnun (Abyssea Attohwa)

    Water
Chigoes (Caedarva Mire) 2x I think (I know at least 1x)
    Lizards (Abyssea Coast)
    Skeles (Abyssea Attohwa)
    Rabbits (Abyssea Vunk)
    Lizards (Abyssea Coast)
    Manticore (Abyssea Tahrongi)

    Dark
    Imps/Leeches (Arrapago Reef)
    Pet Tigers at Xarcabard [S]
Birds (Abyssea La Theine; From here on we did Cataclysm Burns + BLU Burns; some runs were pure Cata)
Sea Monks (Abyssea Vunk; Pure Cata)
    Crawlers (Abyssea Vunk; Mix)
    Raptors (Abyssea Coast; Pure Cata)
    Leeches (Abyssea Highlands; Mix)

Static started with 18 and dropped to 2 people before people passed the weather round. We then added one person midway who didn't do every staff with us. Me, Wolfhero (Incredibly gimp; he even said "I have 18 MAB on BLM; 23 if I use Moldy"), and Provolone (Well geared BLM) finished 8 staffs. Gerrod cleaved a few for us and received Thunder, Ice, and Fire himself. Vathris, Anacrusis, Fructose, Flaps, Anubie, and Slanderousone helped to either Cleave/Gather Mobs/Leech Cruor.

Much appreciated. The only things I would add are that Funguars in Abyssea-LaTheine link and are pretty easy and if you're cleaving, pixies in Grauberg link and the only real danger is looking out for the NM. I think I got the first pixie trial done in 30m and the second in 40m

I timed myself today for curiousity's sake. I finished the fly trial and worm trial both in under 90 minutes each with just two BLM (being dual boxed.) Neither of these trials are ideal in terms of ga/ja (flies are spread out and the pathfinding gets screwed up badly by the terrain, and you can't exactly gather up worms...) So I really don't think that a the single target with a melee method is going to be much faster. It just takes some time to get doing the -ja/-ga spell stuff efficiently. I probably should have posted that in situations where the gathering all of the mobs is time consuming that doing two smaller pulls (maybe around 5-7 mobs) quickly is much smoother and quicker.

Eeven at a humble rate of 25 pulls per hour and 10 mobs per pull, you're looking at 250 mobs per hour (which is certainly not outlandish considering my results today.) Sometimes you get a bit less in unideal situations, but often you can do better.

Trial 2176 just now. Total time was 78 minutes. 250 mobs, so 192 mobs per hour. For the first 50~ minutes of this trial, I had JP guy doing a Great Axe trial competing against me and leveling them up to Tough. This slowed me down greatly as I couldn't gather all of them up, and consequently couldn't get my 2 hour back every pull so that further limited my efforts. I died twice during this time, waiting for weakness both times, and also wasted some time realizing I don't have Atma of the Gales on Snaps. I also started from 0 lights, so no prefarming or whatever. However, when the JP dude finally left, it was the following every 150 seconds.

    http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/270...0718041439.png

About 350 mobs per hour maybe?

Craziness. My personal options were solo -ga/ja or dual box melee + mage. I had a friend aoelin edge the last few of my wind trials. Looking at your SS do you set wireframe, or whatever that is called, to decrease the amount of lag from all the mobs?

my experience has been wireframe doesn't do shit for lag b/c SE's shitty engine.

It doesn't really do much for lag. It helps me see where mobs are to pull in a more efficient manner.

Well there she is, finished all MDMG staves barring surya+2 which is cure pot. Also made a Shareeravadi+2 about a year ago for RDM MDT set with MDB+12. I don't know if it'd be a great day, or a horrible day if SE allowed us to synergize the MDMG and MACC versions together...
