I just figured 5 agi + 4 mab would beat out 11 agi
I just figured 5 agi + 4 mab would beat out 11 agi
Was someone who has cannon who said it, they said something along the lines of "2 AGI=1 MAB" so I don't think they realise the body as 5 AGI base....
I would have thought it would be best too
I thought that as well I would assume that any anwig with +4 agil/WS bonus would beat out cor +2 head mirke with mab would beat out lokis but for some strange reason when i was in U range shoot detectors, AF3+2 head and loki's was coming out on top.
There is no absolute value for this. They're scaled dependent on how much of one you have relative to the other. The more AGI you have, the more value adding an extra point of MAB will give and the less adding an extra point of AGI will give (marginally), and vice versa. You really just have to calculate your damage on each one to see what's better.
Thumbrules like so much stat ~ so much mab only used to work because the difference between really gimp and pimped out on a particular stat wasn't that big (though even then was often enough to skew things a bit). Now the difference can be so huge that even trying to make such a thumbrule is kinda pointless. For stat comparasions I just generally either plug both gears into the equation or for quick guide rework the equation to one that does figure out how much stat 1 MAB is worth and plug in my stats.
For wildfire assuming no +ftp stuff and say mob int of 80 to make it simpler (ok really more clean looking with less variables) , it would be something like... 1MAB ~ (72+agi)/(mab)

Finished this like 4 days ago, almost done with cor af3+2 at the moment. Pew pew! Thanks to Arcas, Svens, Hyriu, Nours, Cair, Briiz, Shiki, Cerrii, Dodu and my mule Cyber for holding popsets or donating items.
The Goblin Furrier is out of range.
Grats Tosh :D tell whasf i want my d.ring back.
There are only four mobs that drop these that are quick to access, with either 5 or 16 minute repop, that may or may not be camped by other people. The quickest way is with a BLM and a WHM (for Recall and Retrace.) Even with this, 10 per hour isn't realistic at all, and it's also extremely boring.
10 is JUST possible only if u have retrace scroll and recall for the whm that is trading it
and yea, this is including no one is camping it
best enchu +2 OAT or double attack +??
I could've swore i read somewhere that one of those gives the main hand the same effect.
shit sorry wrong place i thought this was RQT. ; ;
Grats to all on their Magian Staves!
The guides posted are all very good (wish I had waited til Abyssea to do mine x.x), but I can suggest an alternate camp for the 2nd stage Darkness path trials (Slimes): Den of Rancor has tons of weak EP slimes, and it tends to rain for days when it's in season. If you're just making one, or aren't spamming other Dynamis zones I wouldn't bother, but you can finish 4 staves down there in under 2 hours if you're knocking out the early stages all at once. There was another trial that we used this camp for as well, but I'm sure there's a better camp in Abyssea at this point.
Not that I'm against using Abyssea for these trials or anything, but it's still kind of a shame.. it was fun researching bestiaries, finding camps all over in unlikely places and fine-tuning strategies to maximize kills/hr. Coeurls in Meriphtaud [S], Flies in Karugo, Lizards in Attohwa Chasm, good times.
Pots for final stage Earth can DIAF for sure though, RDM/NIN meleeing and nuking for the kill in Sky took like 6-7 hours. x.x
There are 19 High priest in castle oztroja [s].
Home point in Gardens. Recall - chocobo - oztroja - lot - warp - trade - recall - cho....
If you have 2 characters and the one outside castle isn't camped then alternately lot and warp from MM and from Castle.
If you know spawns in castle then you can probably do more then 10/h.
Argument it's boring is a joke I hope? Every stave trials are boring. Even the ones that you can cleave are boring after few pulls.
I did 10 per hour pretty easy, 3 characters though.
WHM is the one trading, keep a BLM, and other char is just melee.
Recall-Meriph, melee beats up HP, blm retraces, sprinter+gaiters, the time it takes to run to the trade spot and recall back is just a littttle under 5 minutes. After recall, the HP is usually just about to spawn. 10ish per hour (accounting for the minute or so to kill the HP) easy. Also doable without a melee and just having the blm kill.
If you can dualbox you can trade one every 5-6 mins: with gaiters it's about the time it takes to run to fay spring. Kill the high priest with your second account and just op warp to meriph to lot.
Killing in castle is just a little more time consuming if any. Just leave melee in castle with 80/80 inventory and kill leaving bottle in treasure then just zone in lot and warp trade recall. Melee should easily kill next one and heave another bottle ready in treasure before WHM will zone to castle again.
