Empyrean glow is critrate, and yes party members only. Those party members don't even get the bonus if they have their own aftermaths up, as aftermath overwrites afterglow.

So tldr; cus they can´t get gear from ni or vw they upgrade junk just to keep themselves entertained.

Even if you subtract out pchan's effective 50 completed cinder 99s, you still get barely more cinder than dross ones completed.
