So what is the general consensus on this system? It seems to be well structured and accessible for everyone. The weapons look pretty darn good all in all when finished. I for one cannot wait to see the armor system they are planning next XD

44 pages in 4 weeks. I'd say it's pretty popular...

I finished my Mozu today for NIN. Personally the find the NM path to be perfectly fine from what I experienced. Can take awhile on certain NM's(Lumbering Lambert can eat a cock) but it wasn't terrible. VNM's took me the longest part but eventually you'll found pickup groups doing them and it gets done quick.

The elemental path is a piece of shit in many regards imo. If they were all Weather/Day and not just weather in some cases then it'd be alot less troublesome, but way it is now can really suck. Was helping a friend kill Sheep in Caedarva Mire during weather, in about 3 hours he got maybe 10 kills. I worked on lizards for my other Katana in Kuftal since it was the least crowded place, 18 kills in 6-7 hours. And that was in a party with some BST's who also needed lizard kills(not under weather though, lucky them). Weather effects are far too random and they should have all been Day+Weather from the start and not one or the other.

Nonetheless the end weapons are pretty awesome, and in many cases like the 15% cure potency staff very unique, so it's worth it in the end.

The armor system will probably suck as much as this.

Good thing I saw so far : 15% cure potency staff, scythe OAT and polearm OAT

The other staves would be good if you had a way to macro them separetely .. So you have to stick to one staff (cure potency).

Magic accuracy is sexy, but unfortunately I doubt any rdm with serious gear will care about slow/para/sleep staves etc when there is hardly any mob in the game where you don't cap magic accuracy and on which the magic accuracy isn't floored at the minimum 5%.

Wouldn't it be possible to make it macro based on item ID? I mean, every item (even if they have the same name) still has its own unique ID.

The guns and bows aren't good? Really?

Also, isn't the OAT sword better than a joyeuse?

It is if you're a blu.
And depending on your role/job you could probably get away with 2 staves.
If you arent curing much on say rdm(because of a whm in the group or something) and you need to land sleep better you could swap to a dark or wind magians stave and carry light staff for the fight.
When faced with 2 of the same item does the game prioritize one of the the other? If it does then you can take advantage of that and swap to stave A then swap to stave b by repressing the macro.

    >.> I thought it was also the general consensus that Kurodachi rapes Hagun hard, at least in Merits? Especially seeing as the update killed Sekkanoki for it.

Anything where Kuro would "rape" Hagun, polearm beats both. As the mob gets harder Hagun gets stronger.

Bolded for emphasis. Anything merit lv unless it's a skeleton is going to be assraped more by polearm from sam which makes the main situation for kurodachi useless.

Is it possible to go back a few trials, I chose the wrong one and want to try and remove it instead of starting over again

That's why the moogle says "Are you positively fucking sure you want to choose this goddamn trial??" Start from scratch for the right one and maybe one day go back to finishing the one you fucked up on.

So then OAT GKT is pointless? >_> I mean the polearm is DRG main only so I don't see how that argument is valid in this context seeing as SAM can't fucking use it.

I just got to the 400 plants stage...

That's not OAT Lance. And Leviathan's Couse is better IMO

Seriously though I thought the increased WS + DoT trumped Hagun's +20% WSD? I mean it's basically a bigger Soboro with a bit more delay. Plus there's absolutely no guarantee that there will be more birds or other piercing weak enemies at 80+. For all we know we could end up fighting blunt weak mobs lol (wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth >_>)

Trumped? Nah. It'll beat Hagun when engaged fulltime against mobs that don't have overwhelmingly high defense, but bear in mind that the "real-world" factors (time spent disengaged, TP overflow) favor Hagun, as does the aforementioned low pDIF during TP situation.

Polearm's good for a lot more than piercing-weak targets...

Hagun will always beat OAT by 25% on a per WS basis(regardless of Pdif, since it is the same for both WS's). and OAT will always perform about 22% more WS's(taking into account overflow, Which wastes 1 swing every 3 WS's).

So honestly, I don't see any situation where OAT gkatana will "Trump" Hagun.
