As an on-topic aside, who has still been working on these since they announced that some trials will see reduced objectives? Since then I've been sat on my hands with these waiting for changes, and so has everyone else I know.

Still working on mine. Stopped amano midway in trial tho and started getting others done. I'm guessing they'll cut the 1,500 in half at best, but I would be pleased if it was a more drastic cut.

There was that whole thing about Footwork that came up a while back in this thread... did anything conclusive ever come of that?

For normal punchfiteing, definitely Mantis over Wargs.

OAT H2H is your best weapon for Footwork. They -might- fix it to work properly in the update (I hope). If so, OAT would generally be a clear winner with normal H2H.

High dmg H2H is just barely better than Destroyers. With the potential future trials, it's probably a good bet as a solid improvement path up from Destroyers.

With the uncertainty, I'd hold out til the update. If they don't fix the OAT then that path is solely for a Footwork piece, which you may or may not have any interest in. The value of the high damage weapon will depend on what additional upgrades get added.

I pressed on and finished my oat axe, betting it will be changes to relic/mythic and possibly moving some oat trials to take orcus item, since as I recall it only is used for the staff as of now.

Working on my mantis now. Seeing as OAT was already out before last update in form of mythics and ken and glanz acting the same, I'm pretty sure the OAT h2h are just plain supposed to work that way. Any improvement to DD and I can retire my destroyers and use these in their place and keep my faiths for any competitive parsing.

Yea it would but,

Certain trial objectives have been reevaluated and will see target quotas reduced among other adjustments. You need not fear if you've already embarked on a trial, for these changes will also be reflected in trials underway at the time of the update.

Should mean as long as you turn in the items to the moogle pre update(Would be a very prudent idea) you should be ok.

Staves get new names. #838 (cure potency) Teiwaz goes to trial 1700 and gets an extra +1 damage. 15 bottled pixies this time. Trial 1701 changes it to Syraya's Staff and it gets 17% cure potency. Kill 150 elementals on lightsday or under light weather.

Also, the Elemental Affinity: Magic Damage +3 now goes to +4 (the magic accuracy stays +1).

This kind of surprises me because that path was a bit of a joke compared to the OAT paths.

Yes, all staves get new names. In fact, every new final form gets a new name from what I've seen.

The new OAT final forms are just a small damage bump after two trials. The first requires 10 items from some new VNM, and the second trial requires 20 items.

I didn't stay in Jeuno long enough to check more than a couple trials. Ice is Varuna's Staff.

Also confirm, that the OAT without +dmg gives OA2-3, at least for G.axe, zone is too laggy so that is all Im going to check, no added base dmg on the OA2-3, the +dmg end at 49+31 with OAT.

There is an addition trail option that doesnt give Empyrean weapon, and an additional that doesnt give OA2-3 but no additional option for the OAT +dmg
