judging by the fence in background and lack of 'shadow absorbs the damage' messages, they pinned it
So, quick question about the shadow thing:
Does the shadow change during fight or does it just pop one way and that's it?
I assume if it does change no one has figured out how or why yet otherwise no one would bother killing without forcing shadow first.
I believe there have been some people who have claimed that the shadow status of their T3's has changed for them mid-fight. However, I haven't seen any screenshots of this and it has not happened for our LS in approximately 30+ T3 kills since we started looking for shadows specifically.
It appears as though only one of the four zones a T3 will appear in (randomly) will have a shadow at any given time. ie. If you kill 3x Blobdingnag (back to back) and none had shadows, the one remaining in the final zone will have one. That is exactly what happened to us last night.
Of course that still could have been a random occurrence, but if any of you have had experiences that confirm or contradict that theory, please post them.
I personally think that the shadow moves by kill and timer, or just timer.
If the mob with a shadow is killed the shadow moves
and
If the mob is not killed, the shadow just moves after a certain time.
or
It just simply moves after amount of certain time.

Only experience to back up this theory was before anyone started mentioning shadows. Fought 3 of them back to back to back, we got: ring, no ring, ring.
We know that only shadowed mobs have a change at dropping ring, and I know for certain that we popped the third within 3 hours of popping the first. So I can assume we fought shadow > no shadow > shadow. (Zones were beau > xarca S > xarca.)
Since this community has started to note shadows, there have been claims on here that people have had the shadow appear or disappear mid-fight. (IMO, a disappear could only be explained by a timer, but a shadow appearing could be the result of a timer or a kill in another zone.) I really doubt that someone missed a shadow for the first half, and the realized it was there the 2nd, especially if they've paid attention to this thread. A shadow would be the first thing I look for/notice on them now.
Actions or inactions could be a theory for why they change, but I've seen them pop both with and without shadows with the same jobs, same gear, same parties, same method of killing, etc.
Side note, I had a shadowless Vamp open with dirty breath last night, instantly used it upon pop.... Possibly caused by it being loaded with TP and someone depopped it?
I've actually been lead to believe that the people claiming it changed during the fight are the people that have the plugin and see it with or without a shadow pre-pop and then pop with something different and are just comparing the before and during screenshots. I don't know that for a fact obviously, thats just been the impression I've gotten. I still have yet to see a VNM in about 100 total T3 pops change during the course of the fight.
Shadow from start to finish.

Is there a decent southern pin spot in East Rona (S)? Mob keeps popping near KRT and it's a bitch to pull all the way to "fence of justice."
Here's wiki map:

The fence in the bottom left corner of H-9, just infront of where you zone in from warp NPC.
If you're going to use a gimp method you could try not being lazy enough to run for a few minutes?
I'm just starting to get into the solo aspect of VNM and have had a bit of trouble pulling the mobs 500+ yalms. Close pops are np, but when it involves 3+ pairs of boots it's a bit of a challenge. Are people just slow II on pop, flee boots, flee wears, change boots, re-shadow, tank while boots "charge" and repeat 3~ times?
I know a lot of people depop and repop a few times to move the nm to fence but I assume this is with the use of apradar to help locate it fast instead of 10 heals chasing it? no?
Any advice on low-manning Verthandi? Only thing I saw was a party setup of SAM SAM BRD WHM RDM COR. We tried it last night and the full-dispel+DMG move became too much after a while. I figure we can stun that and that'll help tons, but is there any other nuance that I could be missing besides "dd/tank it, stun Cyclonic moves, and live"?
