Probably. Earth weather causes KV to deaggro and that has nothing to do with water/rain whatsoever.

Probably related to snow weather if anything.
So... the possible conclusion of this strange argument is that more weather conditions than just rain may impact on a mob's persistence in tracking? That'd be interesting, if largely useless.
Maybe the weather anomalies are occurring on Firesday, which is causing the snow to melt on you.
there is a huge gap between the last kindred and the BC area, if flee speed kindred didnt catch him before that he did something illegal.
I have noticed this behavior as well (my first comment on this) when a kindred links to a molech; it simply does not deagro for anything.
An anomaly I have noticed with odd linking behavior can be found in SSR.
Typically, on the first floor if you dont supertank the fomor for popping hammerblow, you lose hate from the pull by the room with the walls like a +. (this allows you to sneak up and get back to the group with less than 45 seconds wasted)
I like to pull with stun or elegy depending my job, which allows a nice headstart so i don't get caught.
Occassionally (1/8 runs), the fomor i pull (always the rdm on the far left) doesnt deagro at the room and chases me down the hallway to no end.
Even more rare though (2-3 times in the last year of runs), is the RDM links every fomor and they ALL chase me to no end (almost the entrance).
I have never figured out what causes the odd behavior (i never get hit and am never close enough to agro them). I keep track of them using apradar and keep the closest fomor at a decent distance).
Does anyone understand what could cause this linking behavior in fomor?
Well, KV doesnt deaggro during single, but double double weather he has very rapid hate decay.
Has anyone tried doing that with a plain scorpion? Possible SE made it so that KV won't deaggro without earth weather to make holding him less painful. Not likely, seeing as it's SE, but something worth thinking about.
Well I know i dragged a few scorps all across Attohwa Casm a while back on nin with swift shoes at night and I couldn't deaggro them at all. They ended up chasing me up the mountain even after gaining atleast 150 distance for a long period of time.
Well some mobs obviously behave differently to weather, but I don't think it's that common. Bhaflau gears are an obvious example. And not so many people know that in Zhayolm Remnants, the archaic machinery (bosses included) will adjust aggro/linking patterns based on earth weather. The gears on the skadi legs floor can go from not aggroing at all, to aggroing and being hard to link, to aggroing from afar and linking all at once.
As for deodorize, I can say that I know what it is supposed to do. But in all of my years playing FFXI, I'm not sure if I've ever used it a single time (and at a proper distance no less) and had it work >.>
Deodorize works fine for me when MPKing tiamules with Sargas.
Hm knew that was you when I went to do ENM one day.
I have no idea if anyone has tested this, i plan to next time i get a Ruthven pop again. But the use of Blinding Potions to nullify his Gaze attacks both his Terror Gaze and Doom Gaze. Just throwing that out there for first timers on solo/duo/low manning to possibly avoid oshi- situations.
yeah yeah Inb4 turn around noob and dont face him >.>;;
