    Mission 12 Chocobo

Ok, so I beat the boss necessary for mission 12, 5 star'd it, got rid of that red barrier. Went to the back of that area, the little pond with all the chocobo's. Did the cutscene, now, across the pond is a marker on my map that says "Object of interest", which I obviously can't walk to. One of the chocobos roaming around appears on the map with a feather icon, but I for the life of me can't figure out what I am supposed to do next? Am I supposed to be able to ride this thing? Do I have to do another mission so that I can actually ride them, because from the look of it, the next mission is on top of a mountain, that can't be reached without a bird. Probably just missing something stupid, hopefully someone can clear this up.

When you beat mission... 14 I believe, might be 15, you can start riding the chocobos that have feather icons above em. The missions after that start being on chocobo-only areas.

Ah I see, In my haste I missed another flashing Cieth stone or 2 that IS accessable without the bird, guess I have to finish these, then can continue riding. Btw, I'm on chapter 11, all characters have their 3 main roles at level 4, and the other 3 I have not touched. At what point should I progress with the main story? Is it worth farming a heap of CP to save up points to throw at the other roles for the character? Or am I better off doing that farming at a later point since im assuming it will get easier to farm larger amounts of CP.

Progress now, farm later. The next CP stage is alot of points and at chapter 13 you can go back to gran pulse through a portal and farm like mad. Lots of things open up here like the big turtles are killable, growth egg becomes accessible (double cp) and you will be maxing your cp every few hours.

You can easily go from chapter 11-13 without extra farming. There is tons of CP along the way.

Don't progress just yet. Finish up the rest of the missions. After (I think) 17 the rest are all along the story path until you hit chapter 12. Once you're at that point progress and do those as you go along with the story. By the time you're done you should have the first 26 or so done. Chapter 12 has no Cieth stones in it, then when you hit 13 most of the remaining missions are all available to do.

Unless you enjoy the game being too easy, I highly recommend you stop at mission 5 and go on. Otherwise, you're going to be insanely overpowered and the game is going to be boring as hell.

And contrary to popular belief, you do not need to grind (and don't need ANY maxed roles) for the boss of Ch. 11 if you actually think and employ a reasonable strategy.

Most of the reasons for doing through mission 18 is to create less backtracking, since mission 18 (i think) opens up a lot of the stones otw through ch11

He already said he has the 3 main roles at level 4, completely irrelevant. Not to mention you're making lots of the missions retardedly easy if you come back after you beat the game. I've done a ton without unlocking crystarium 10 and it's way more fun. Felt great finally beating those triple Tonberry and stuff with my gimp as hell group.

Dont think you have to do through mission 18. Though, the biggest thing that I regret is not finishing through the Chocobo mission (14) before moving on. Making sure you unlock the Cielth Waystones that you encounter during your travels from the plains through to the end of chapter 12 would be nice.

I only completed through mission 5 and while part of me is happy I did move forward at this point. Keeping the game challenging through the end of the story is/was very important to me. I do wish I had at least unlocked the waystone in the tunnel. Even going back with multiple capped roles it can be tedious. At least its "decent" CP with the egg under equipped. 6-13k CP per very short fight.

The object of interest is actually a chocobo chick that roams around/ He'll come closer to the bank and you can get some item from him. I think it was a shit chocobo plume or feather.
