My house and yard in Charlotte is spotless, those fools do good labor. Then again we don't have stickers here in the Carolinas, sup?
fair enough, you win that one
I'm sorry but as someone who comes from MN, Texas has pretty weak forests in comparison...
Still though NC definitely isn't worth putting on a pedestal, that's for damn sure
Not a pedestal, just saying that out of 50 states Texas doesn't even place. It's cool, youre new there and its "special", but remember that I've metaphorically banged that state off and on for 12 years now. You're now coveting it and loving it, but I know it in and out, upside down and know all of her dirty secrets.
And lemme tell ya, shes a nasty little piece.
Mind you, Ive also lived in St. Louis for a few years and went to college there. I also lived in a few other cities and states as well. Then again you guys put Prince on a pedestal so I don't think MN is in a position to talk lol.
Like I said, I have family that lives in NC and it's not all that honestly. Actually recently my aunt and uncle who lived in Raleigh BOTH got laid off (he was a 100k+ financial guy) and they had such a difficult time finding work that they ran out of cash and had to move back to rural MN where cost of living is cheaper.
I've been all over too; my dad has 12 siblings and my mom 7 so I've got family all over the US, including an aunt/uncle who live in San Antonio and have for decades. I never said Texas is "omgamazing" but it certainly doesn't suck either and it deserves to place, at least North Texas does. Houston and anything near the gulf/border sucks, you won't get an argument from me on that.
Look at the statistics too, I'm not the only person with this viewpoint. But it's pretty obvious you hate it and your hatred isn't going to wain by a single post on a forum, so keep hatin bro, keep hatin.
Miz-> Professional Hater
Seriously though, only time I've been to NC was while driving to Myrtle Beach from NY. Right down I-95, and only stopped at 1 gas station.
This 1 gas station sold "Fat Back", that wasn't even refridgerated (shit was being preserved in salt or some shit lol).
As far as the I-95 Corridor goes, North Carolina is more hickish/southern/w.e you want to call it than South Carolina is. Small area is small I know..... but come on man......... Fat Back in salt, at a gas station? They just had like a table of that shit chillin' in front of the register lol.
Oddly enough, the triangle area was barely hit by the recession. Like I said before, I don't exactly think this place is the bee's knees, but it does consistently rank very high in all of those stupid lists that Forbes makes for people to decide where to live.
How are you gonna hate on fatback? And furthermore, comparing the entirety of NC that you drove through on a major highway to a town 10 miles into SC is pretty silly. SC is just about as bad as TX in my mind. Shitty roads, the only major city is a dump, and by and large too many fucking rednecks.
(I was raised in SC btw)
People complaining about Florida drivers need to realize that until they blow up ALL THE STREETS in Florida, you will have shitty drivers. That state just breeds shitty drivers and even people who go there start to drive that way. Honestly every friend I have from Florida either has abunch of marks on their Drivers License, or in 2 cases, are no longer legally allowed to driver in Florida. Having been there before I can confirm this, and frankly I'm surprised people make it past the age of 16 without getting run over.
And Texas isn't that bad honestly, if you ignore the racism. Was on a trip with some buddies and we stopped at a gas station outside Dallas and the old white guy in a cowboy hat asked me to pump him some gas(cause all latinos are really Mexican immigrants obviously) and I almost got in his face about it until I remembered he PROBABLY had a gun since it's easier to get one there compared to NYC. Aside from moments like that it was fun...ignoring the racism, which is again why I can probably never consider living in the southern part of the U.S.
On topic.. this is the one thing

Ok it's time for some Texas real talk in here.
DFW area = good
Austin = awesome
San Antonio = good tourist town
Houston = humid as fuck
West Texas = desert and oil derricks
Border Towns = warzone
Rest of the podunk shit everywhere else = doesn't matter
oh Miz = hater
Did I miss anything?
Galveston
(Heard good things about it as a vacation spot from a few different people.)
Let's hear the real perspective Tex.
Galveston - nasty fucking water, why hasn't the ocean swallowed this town already
Fair enough.... fuck Galveston then lol.
Yeah honestly, any Texas coastal city is really all that special. Sure the beaches exist, but there is a beach in Mobile, Alabama too and I don't see people flocking there for vacations.
After you mentioned Galveston, I realized I forgot South Padre island which is just basically a cheap spring break/vacation location for people close.
I'll never forget the one that got away.
