woulda been fucking awesome if scott's sword was the master sword from zelda ;p. shit woulda been so hot.
Excellent movie. 'nuff said.
I still don't understand the people that come here looking to be 'convinced' to watch this movie.
If you're gonna see it, see it. If you need a forum board to convince you to see it you're a nab.
Only earned $10.5M this weekend. Ouch. I better catch it at the theaters this week cuz it might not make it another week at this rate.
I agree that this movie doesn't seem to appeal to a wide audience. Unfortunately, the audience that does find it appealing also like to pirate movies and never leave their room for sunlight.
I'm pretty sure nobody saw it because of Michael Cera playing a nerdy kid. I had to pay for my friend's ticket just to go because she "didn't want to see Juno 2 lolololol". We both ended up liking it though. Ended up seeing this and the Expendables with a different friend on the same day and this was definitely better.
There were people walking out of the theater at the same time we were going "Okaaay, it was Juno 2 with stupid effects."
Also, I do find this to be my new favorite movie. Certainly it's not the best movie ever, but there are so many things that make this movie not only good, but also fun and enjoyable that it takes the cake for me. That being said I never read the graphic novel so I don't know if I would have been disappointed reading it first and viewing this second.
Yeah, this movie was definitely awesome. Obviously, the comic is better blah blah etc, but I still loved it.
I got 3 of my friends that knew nothing of Scott Pilgrim to go and they ended up really liking it. One of them loves Zelda, so as soon as the intro started she looked at me and smiled lol.
Awesome movie, but I understand why it'll probably be a bomb in the box-office. their is no broad appeal, unless your a geek with knowledge of video-games, anime/catroons and comic books.
Sad I felt the movie was superior to The Expendables.
I think we've got ourselves another "cult" film.
Which is kinda sad. Went to see it with the GF last night with zero knowledge, enjoyed the heck out of it.
Why? Because the idea of a world that works on videogame rules is PERFECTLY FUCKING NATURAL TO US.
Spoiler: show

Comeau was great.
Spoiler: show
Saw the movie last night and thought it was pretty good. I havn't read the comics but I may pick them up to get the story in more detail. Would've loved to see more backstory on the evil exes but there's only so much you can do in an hour & change. Black Sheep by The Clash at Demonhead is one of my favorite songs now.
Spoiler: show
Grant, you should listen to other music by Metric (actual artist of Black Sheep), they're fantastic. I'm glad this movie might bring them to light.
Yea, I am quite aware of Metric & enjoy alot of their music.
I saw it over the weekend with a friend and his gf who are both gamers. My gf opted out since she hates video games with a passion.
Despite the fact that I greatly dislike Michael Cera and the same stupid role that he plays in every move that he's in, I really enjoy Scott Pilgrim. The humor was great, the story was great, I enjoyed all of the characters, and the nerd/gamer references were awesome. I understand the references to gaming mainstays like Zelda, Final Fantasy, Tony Hawk, and fighting games, but the reference to Clash at Demonhead came out of nowhere. It does make for a good band name though. I guess I never thought of that when I played it growing up..
And yeah, Metric is pretty awesome.

Saw it with my wife and a bunch of friends everyone loved it. Super funny, exciting, and heart felt when it needed to be. The 8-bit intro was great.
I usually don't like Michael Cera that much I think his type casting schtick is getting old but it didn't ruin this movie.
