deceptisol + fortisol, enter fight (rav rav com, or rav rav rav if you can manage) > quake > summon > max out the gestalt gauge > final skill instantly after switching to gestalt mode.

they should all be dead, if not at least 2 of the 3 will be

Chapter 11 tower missions (maybe some spoilers)

I five-starred all but two of those pain in the ass statue missions in the tower. Can I go back later and five-star the ones I wasn't able to do or am I snookered as far as the achievement is concerned?

what's the best way to progress after beating the Chapter 11 boss? I'm wanting to grind and do missions before I progress the story, but I'm not sure what I should do - just grind, do missions, try for the Growth Egg, I've got no idea what's to do next.

edit: from what I'm reading on gamefaqs, it sounds like: mission 14 -> mission 54 Death spam -> grind/do missions to my heart's content would be the best way to go about things. anything else I should make sure not to miss my first time on Gran Pulse?

If I were to replay the game, I'd go for Growth Egg as soon as possible. Other than that, doing missions 1-26(?) if you haven't already, since they're right along the path.

i got the growth egg before beating the game (today actually) after i unlocked the portals and did some more hunts. vanille/snow/light as sab/sen/med death spam until it hits and then just hope you survive the beating the lil nigs give you.

summon after you get death to land and it will give you a head start. did it with 2 stage 9's maxed on each of them. make sure you have a med/sen/med setup also since you will need it to recover every couple of attack rounds.

I actually did 1-17 Hunts before I finished Chapter 11 up. They weren't really hard. Mission 12 (a different cei'th stone color, you'll see what i mean) is sort of tough if you didn't grind your crystal at all (which I did not seeing as I didn't progress into the story until i was done with all of it). Either way.. yeah, do missions up to 17, because after that, the rest are done while progressing through the story. I'd try and get the growth egg as well. That'll really help.

Yes, you can do them again, and yes they count towards the trophy.

This is about the final boss, so don't look if you don't want to see:

    Spoiler: show
No real spoiler but just in case.

Does the final boss "adjust" to your strength? Basically here's what I did:

Special save at the last section of tetracts or whatever it's called.

Took normal save and killed boss/finished.

Reloaded from special save, grinded up there until chrystarium was completely capped on all chars and sitting on 999,999 CP.

Kill boss to move on to endgame.

    Now, here's what's weird:

When I went through the first time, I 1 shot all 3 forms, 5 starring first and last, 3 starring 2nd. So I got the "Superstar" achieve my very first time touching the final boss lol.

So then I go back through with my *super* beefy team (talking like 3-4k more hp per person along with huge stat boosts) thinking it's just going to be a joke... and I swear it was like 50 times harder.

The 2nd form in particular, even with strong setups of tri-rav and rav/rav/med, sticking to them most of the fight other than when you're forced to heal up with 2 med... took me 28 fucking minutes (plus a wipe or 2 even).

Anybody know what's up with that? Like, the only real difference in my approach was that I wasn't using libra in case I needed to renew or summon, since I already knew the weaknesses weren't specific enough to make the AI wasteful.

Maybe I just got lucky the first time, but it sure seems to me like when I got way the fuck stronger, so did he.

if you dont libra/scope then your nukers wont know what element to focus on until a bit into the fight.

but that could just be BS because i havent gone for the win yet.

Didn't notice anything personally, killed him three times so far, with better gear/stats each time. Then again it was pretty easy even the first time. The only thing that I noticed changes is his "I'm a sword, lolz"-move, which takes your party to <100hp regardless of max HP.

Yeah, Merciless Judgment is probably what gave you the wrong impression. It's based on a percentage of your maximum HP.

Nah I understood how MJ works as soon as he did it a couple times in the first fight.

As far as elements, it's weak to everything elemental and resistant to physical/ruin, so double/triple rav doesn't need libra.

I dunno, it just seemed like it took *way* longer to kill, and was hitting way harder on everything, not just MJ. The difference in MJ wasn't even that big because I heal for so much more now.

And actually, after thinking about it a bit more, I think a lot of it may have just been not using my sabs as extensively the 2nd time through.
