I am almost positive it is... You can also upgrade along the path of:

Gold Watch > Champion's Badge > Survivalist's Catalog > Collector's Catalog > Connoisseur's Catalog

for more than the few Collector's you will naturally come across.

Also, I'm pretty damn sure that the Survivalist's Catalog negates the effect of Collector's/Connoisseur's. I wasn't getting shit with both Survivalist's & Collector's on for many many many fights until I took the Survivalist's off.

Doesn't seem to be affecting my rate with surv+coll, but I haven't been back to turtles since I got surv.

I did shit out of order cuz I didn't really mess with many stones other than for growth egg before going through story.

Anyway yeah, I just got my 2nd collector's, and wasn't sure if I should upgrade it or if I'm going to get a free con just sell it or what. Guess I'll be upgrading, thanks

Debuffs (and buffs, but mostly de-) make an absurd difference in your performance.

Have Combat Clinic for after Merciless Judgment. Other than that, COM/RAV/RAV or SAB/RAV/RAV are great for staggering him. Army of One til he's 999% then COM/COM/RAV or 3x COM if you got 'em.

I didn't have an antiDeath accessory but he did totally Death me once. Sucks.

I think I used a SEN for a lot of the fight though just to be safe.

EDIT: Also if for whatever reason nothing is working for you do SAB/MED/SEN the whole fight and spam Poison, he dies.

That one took me a while to figure out. Take the "transportation" from the beginning of the springs area back into the mines and it will stop and drop you off at that broken bridge and close the gap for you, giving you access to a whole other chunk of that zone.

Light/Hope/Vanille. Start MED/MED/MED to eat his initial Merciless Judgment and then switch to MED/SYN/SAB. Buff up and make sure Vanille lands Poison! When Poison is up and you're decently buffed, just tank him in MED/MED/MED, reapplying Poison as necessary. Put some Cherub's Crowns on your main character and others if necessary. Should be a fairly quick and painless fight.

Second form: start COM/SYN/SAB => RAV/SYN/SAB until you have Haste on all of you and maybe a handful of debuffs on him. After this, RAV/RAV/RAV and stagger him really quickly. As soon as he is staggered, Army of One and zerg and he should die on the first stagger.

Like all "special abilities", you must use them yourself, as the AI will never choose to use it on their own.

You'll find them at the bottom of your abilities when you're in a fight, and you need to be in the correct role to use them. Ravager for Army of One.

Q: I just finished chapter 12 and got to Chapter 13 where I can teleport back to Eden/Gran Pulse. I have weapons for the 3 main maxed out and their Crystal as well. Should I go back to Gran Pulse to do missions/farming or should I just continue on with the story and finish the game then come back later for the missions later on?
