So, I'm definitely sitting here going over different checklists from different places, I definitely have/had every single item on every single list, and it's not giving me treasure hunter... any ideas?

Oh, apparently you have to go talk to the robot or something? derp >.>

Yeah, you have to talk to Bhakti to get the trophy, just like the 10,000 step trophy.

I read through the list of when to upgrade items. But I was wondering if anyone had a definitive answer as to which weapons are best. I intend on only really using Snow Vanille and Lightning, so focus would be on those 3.

    Fang, Taming Pole no question

the other two are trickier depending on what you want them to do.

Light, Lionheart is generally agreed upon as the best, but Axis Blade is good if you're letting the AI control her and you don't use paradigm shift to refill the ATB very often

Vanille, Marlboro Wand is probably overall best, but Healer's Staff can be good depending on your playstyle

Honestly I'd do even Hauteclaire over Lionheart, what makes Lionheart good is the set bonus, which it loses when maxed out.

Lionheart stage 2* > Lionheart ultimate * even, I'd say.

    My opinions:

Fang: Training Pole, although Dragoon Lance is not "terrible" as it might seem.

    Van: Belladonna, absolutely no question.

Light: Axis Blade > Hauteclaire > Lionheart stage2 > Lionheart ultimate

Having trouble 5 staring the very early missions even with gold watch equipped. I assume this is because I need to equip some lower level stuff? all 3 of my people are currently using completely upgraded weapons.

I found with the early missions after I had some maxed weapons that I was 5* if I just opened with Com/Rav/Rav or Com/com/Rav and killing things. Don't bother with any sort of buff/debuff.

If still aren't making it than, ya, dropping down a tier for the weaps might increase the time enough to make the cut.

Pop a deceptisol for a preemptive strike to pretty much guarantee a 5-star victory. I had like 18 saved up by the time I was doing a second pass on missions to 5-star them. If you don't, buy one for 30k for the really heinous fights or try for a manual preemptive strike. Some fights I remember needing preemptives on were some of the giant flans, juggernauts, and tonberries.

Preempting tonberries is really easy, they'll all run straight for you then leash and run back at exact same spot, super easy to grab them then.

Other than that, yeah, deceptisols for the ones that are super lame on the timers, and my advice for most is just go in triple com for the damage multiplier and stuff dies in 1-2 blitzes.

don't forget that Sprint Shoes and Aurora Scarf make you kill faster but aren't calculated in your target time. for really easy stuff they're one of the best ways to guarantee a five-star.

    2 quick questions:

Looking for a good CP grinding spot, preferably with decent drops. Right now at Behemoth/Giant Wolf thing. My characters are almost done with 1 5th level job, and all are at least beginning the last level of each of their 3 main jobs. Is there a better spot for me?

And a "crafting" question - Is there a item that is cost efficient at getting bonuses? Exp? And if I get a weapon to level 3 bonus, and I upgrade using, lets say, 20 particle accelerators, does the bonus run out in the middle of using the accelerators, or only after its done (i.e. the next item I used to upgrade it).

    Thanks!

I farmed turtles for Traps and got more CP than I needed (with Growth Egg) so I don't have any other farming spots for CP.

As for the upgrading. Best organic mats to use are Sturdy Bones/Vibrant Ooze to build your multiplier. 36 of either of them will take you from 0x-3x multiplier. As for the mechanical component, your best bet is the Ultracompact Reactor (for large xp requirements) and the item that is 1660 gil from Lenora's Garage (name escapes me) for the lower requirement xp needs.

Thanks Sign, for the help. Where's the best place to farm the turtles for traps?

depends on level and stuff but I really like Edenhall. some people prefer farming on GP because there's a circle you can make where you keep respawning them, but Eden is really good if you're summoning since you can get TP from the soldiers so easily.

Hmmm not sure what you mean by summoning. I've just hit a level 5 job on each player, and each of their main 3 jobs is starting the last level. Which do you think would be better?

Finally, one more weapons question: What's the best weapon for each player to make into their stage 3?

when you're fighting turtles, you can make it easier on yourself by summoning. your eidolon will automatically kill both legs, for some reason. I'm not quite sure why but I'm not complaining.

at your level though, unless you follow a low-spec kill strat, Death spam is probably best. but summoning still helps for that.

and on weapons, the only one that's clear-cut imo is Taming Pole. that's a definite must for upgrading, and should be the first one you upgrade, because the strong Fang is the closer you are to not needing summons or Death to kill turtles.

well, that's not entirely true - there are other strats, such as using Sazh. but for my money, Fang as leader is the easiest and simplest way to do it.

    haha

if you really want to farm them now, you can. Vanille/Fang/Anyone, summon right away to bring it down, spam Death. DO NOT USE THE SUMMON'S ULTIMATE MOVE. let it go away on its own, this gives you more chances to spam Death. once the summon leaves, Fang will come back and start debuffing, giving you an even greater chance of landing Death. you can debuff yourself right after you summon but either way works.

fair warning though, it will be frustrating and take forever to finally land Death. before I got it to work I could have sworn they were immune to Death, it took so long. if anything, I'd say do this until you get one trap, then farm for gil elsewhere. you can come back and farm for more traps later, once it's efficient.

death landed on the 91st try, got you good you fucker

the summon to start off really worked, enabled me to get all my buffs on and start spamming, might try to go for a real kill next time, but still starting with summoning.

    a few questions:
-- how can I improve the ultimate drop, trap or whatever?
-- why would I only want one trap?
-- what items should I equip to regain TP fast?

    thanks!
