There's a way you can make 1 into 3 if you have a terrible drop rate, I wouldn't do it tho.

Assuming you're 5*ing all the fights, just the um "Energy Sash" I think it is that gives tp every time something dies. As far as I can tell champion's badge doesn't matter unless you're getting bad battle ratings.

if you really want to farm them now, you can. Vanille/Fang/Anyone, summon right away to bring it down, spam Death. DO NOT USE THE SUMMON'S ULTIMATE MOVE.

Isn't the time it stays down the same no matter what you do to it? Thought the only reason to not use ultimate was because it would reset chain gauge.

the summon to start off really worked, enabled me to get all my buffs on and start spamming, might try to go for a real kill next time, but still starting with summoning.

a few questions:

-Its extremely difficult just to get them to drop so really the ideal situation at your point is to get one and upgrade Fangs taming pole into a Kains Lance to make her a BAMF.
-Equip your Light with Lionheart/Ultima weapon and then for accessories do a Champions Badge and an Energy Sash and you should be getting more TP back. And if you put one more item on (Survivalist Catalog, Hunter’s Friend, Speed Sash, Energy Sash, Champion’s Badge) making it 4 total, your random instant change will turn into Gestalt/TP Boost and youll be really getting a lot more TP back.

Isn't the time it stays down the same no matter what you do to it? Thought the only reason to not use ultimate was because it would reset chain gauge.

between the times that I've summoned to knock them down, and the times that I've manually killed the legs, he always stays down a lot longer when I summon. and the difference isn't small, either - it's enough that I can't kill him if I take him down manually, but I can kill him if I use a summon.

I'm not certain but my guess would be that he won't start his "timer" for getting back up until your party returns.

I may be wrong though. it may be related to something else, like stagger making him get back up quicker (since I never stagger while my summon is out, that would explain it)

and on the traps, I can't stress enough that it's not worth dismantling a * 3rd-tier weapon. I've already got 3 traps and I don't even have enough gil to upgrade one weapon to max level yet. it's to the point I'm considering taking off the con's catalog, I really don't need it and it slightly lowers the chance of an ingot dropping.

Also, quick question about Taming Pole - why do I want to upgrade that into Fang's ultimate weapon? Stagger lock seems like a shitty ability.

Upgrade Taming Pole for the 921 attak and magic damage. it's her strongest weapon, and the other abilities on the the other weapons arent that great.
and for upgrading accessories, I 1st focused on str armlets. basically the only things I equip now are str bracelets, the aurara mantle thing and speed belts for First strike ability, Genji gloves, catalogs for drop rate, and growth egg for 2x CP, though i'm now capped on CP so I always have gold watch equipped.

Taming Pole first. Get it to Kain's Lance, at least. it's good because it has higher stats than any of her other weapons by far, and the ability just means you can't stagger an enemy, you can still raise the chain bar. and because you will be using Fang's physical attacks (and Highwind) a lot, it's very important to have a strong weapon on her.

other than Taming Pole, the one most important upgrade is Gaian Rings. they come from Clay Rings, which you should have two of (and you can't buy them). level them up and max them out, they are invaluable for turtle farming. unfortunately you can only get two (unless I'm missing something) so you'll need at least one Royal Armlet/Imperial Armlet for your third character.

aside from that, I forget the name of their original form, but the strength bracelets. very handy. a couple max level Power Gloves (Kaiser Knuckles once you can farm Long Guis) are great.

there's a lot more, but most of it either depends on preference - things like HP bracelets, which are helpful but not essential in the least - or it's stuff that's so easy to level up it doesn't matter, like catalogs, aurora scarves, and protect/shell accessories.

so yeah. Taming Pole, Clay/Gaian rings, and Royal/Imperial Armlet are good to start with.

Progressing through Orphens cradle and am at the point where I am pretty sure it's about to be the point of no return. I can still easily get back to the warps to Eden/Pulse, so my question is should I stop progressing and go farm CP/Mats/Gil/Missions (Which I still need a ton of all three.) before finishing off the story? I have heard you can continue and finish off everything after you beat the game but is there any advantages or disadavantages of doing it before or after? I plan on Platinuming the game if that helps. Please reply by quoting me cause I won't be reading and other posts to not spoil whatever I have left, and with that said no spoilers please! Thanks.

Finish the story and farm after. You can't even unlock the last stage of crystarium till after the story. Theres no point in really grinding too much right now because the last bosses are not that difficult. Theres also a place right before the end where you can farm a lot of CP if you want to, but I skipped it and had no problem capping out later on.

Yeah I spent a few hours grinding near the "point of no return", it was really nice CP but in the end it was wasted time, I've gone through much more than that just going to waste since I capped out completely while farming mats and gil.

Is there really a point to upgrading accessories like the sprint shoes? I thought it would make the auto haste last longer in a fight or be perma, but from what I have read the only reason to upgrade most to * is so they yield better items when you dismantle them.

Upgrading question. If I get a 3x multiplier on something, then use an entire stack of components at once, do I get the 3x multiplier on each component in the stack, or can the multiplier wear off in the middle of the stack? Not sure if that makes sense, hopefully someone will get it.

I had the same question but then I realized that, when you select the items, you'd be able to tell if the bonus was calculated for the whole stack or each item because of the way the total exp adds up.

then I felt stupid. lol

my question: got Master's Seal, one Genji Glove, capped Kain's Lance (Taming Pole) and Omega Weapon (Axis Blade), as well as level 36 Nue (Oyster Yanni or whatever). using Fang/Hope/Light. going for Gold Watch before I do the rest of the missions. I assume at this point I will be able to take down mark 64, but is there anything specifically I should do to prepare for him?
