So, I still don't "see the light" with Army of One.

What gear and stuff are people using with it? I even used it on something that's weakness was raw melee, still shit damage and no bigger chain boost than a normal ravager round.
One strength to Army of One is that you can change Paradigm while the attack is still going and your Army of One will not be stopped. Quite handy to build stagger chain on enemies when you have to constantly switch back to heal.

For me it always fills up about 250-300% of a chain gauge...

Army of One's proper use is to ramp up the chain gauge on an enemy who's already staggered. it's side-benefits are that you can paradigm shift during it (and you're guaranteed the short animation) and that stagger can't wear off during the animation, so using it right at the end of a stagger is very helpful.

however, it's not good for much else, so it only really comes in handy in certain situations. but when you need it, it's incredible. helped me so much in Orphan's Cradle. and if it weren't for Highwind, it would be awesome for bringing down turtles fast.

Guis come out when you've finished mission 62. If you're not capped on crystarium you won't want to change them yet, and maybe not even if you still need to farm money. They're no joke.

    Adamantoise/Adamantortoise. No question.

If you're into the turtle farming stage, just use Fang for Highwind. The only uses for AoO in endgame are spamming it with instant chain set praying for proc, or using it to extend a stagger for a couple more hits from Fang.

So far the only way I can kill turtles is for the death way. Any other suggestions?

Army of One w/ instant chain synergy is a good trick for certain missions in the game. That's how I beat the Gigantuar, and mission 54(? - I think), w/ the 2 mobs thats spam Multi cast

I wouldn't bother with instant chain. It's so completely random, and it always seems to proc when I dont want it to when I'm fighting shenlongs, like before I'm buffed as much as I want to be.

I finally beat an Adamantoise without death tricking.

My group has maxed out 2 of their 3 main jobs, almost done with the other main job, and has two circles done on the other 3 jobs. My party: Fang (leader), Light, Hope

    Equipment:
Each: Gaia Ring, maxed; damage reduction 15% rings, energy sash, growth egg, rare item catalog, a maxed Adamant bangle on Hope (for +1500 health)
Weapon: Phase 2 weapon that is part of the random: instant stagger package

So basically each person had damage reduction, earth reduction, and random: instant stagger.

I created a paradigm for each job: RAV RAV RAV, SEN SEN SEN, etc.

I placed the SEN SEN SEN paradigm on the bottom, so that it would be easy for me to switch to it quickly.

I started off in SYN SYN SYN, with full TP.

I basically buffed up, then healed up, then went SAB SAB SAB until I stuck deprotect, deshell, imperil on one of the legs, healed up again, then started nuking it.

Once staggered, I drove up the stagger until around 700-800 or until the leg was about halfway done, then used Fang's Highwind on it to finish off.

Healed up, rebuffed, debuffed other leg... etc, repeat.

Once he falls, I debuffed him, landing slow, deprotect, deshell, then nuked. Once stagger got high, switched to COM COM COM. At end of stagger, land highwind.

Keep healed up, and try to switch to SEN SEN SEN for EVERY hit, even the stomps, but especially for Roar and Quake.

If things get nasty, summon to heal everyone up and get a free knockdown.

If you play things safe, you'll get him down. Took me 28 minutes, timer was 26.

    OK 2 questions:

Does anyone know if the trap drop rate off the Tortoises is worse than the toises? Wouldn't surprise me given that the tortoises are so much easier.

And does anyone know if the connoisseur's catalogs stack? I've only got one on currently.

I'm missing the Champion's Badge. One list says it's an upgrade from Doctors Code (which I dont think it is, since I cant seem to upgrade it) and another says it's from chapter 12.

Is chapter 12 the only place/way to get it? or is there a desynth?
All I'm missing for treasure hunter trophy is the Gilgamesh weapons, the final upgrades for the element rings, and Champion Badge.

    Doctor's Code doesn't upgrade.

Two places you can get Champion's Badge:

    1. Treasure chest in chapter 12
    2. "Upgrade" the Gold Watch

Keep in mind that even if you weren't done with your watch, you could leave it til the last thing to do it, then upgrade it, go talk to the robot to get the trophy, and then quit without saving.

It's actually what I did with about 3 mil of stuff just cuz I knew I wanted to have the money to upgrade more weapons when I finished the trophy.

I've just hit CH12 and, thanks to the robot quest, I can afford to buy some Adamantite to upgrade Lights Axis Blade.

My question is; should I drop the 200k or am I going to get a free one somewhere down the road so I could save myself some gil?
