Venus Gospel initial level is 19? T2 weapons don't start at Lv1.

The way I understand it. Upgrading EXP carries over into Levels, but not Tiers.
    Tier 1 Level 1 item
    bajillion exp
    Tier 1 Level * item
    Catalyst thing
Tier 2 Level ??? item (Not always level 1?)
    bajillion exp
    Tier 2 Level * item
So hitting * is where you start wasting extra EXP

I believe the charms are simply found in various treasure spheres spread around Archylte Steppe. If you sold all but one elemental ring, you could possibly dismantle 5 of your charms into rings and then the remaining charm could be upgraded into a 20-sided Die and you'd be ok. (as long as you haven't sold things like Mission rewards)

Q about "No Stagger" weapons: Even if the character with the weapon equipped can't stagger the enemy, can other characters still do it?

Wondering what weapon I should upgrade for Fang and I can't seem to find a definitive answer anywhere.. >_>

    most people pick Taming Pole

Stagger Lock means you can get the enemy stagger gauge like 99.99999% of the way, but you'll need someone else to kick the gauge over into stagger mode. It works fine for fang since she's on COM most of the time, so your RAVs will be able to stagger mobs with no problem.

Yes. You can still stagger an enemy if one character uses a Stagger Lock item.

Q: What are the little green circles around the big Pulse field? Sometimes I run by them and the characters make little remarks like "Hmmm." and they seem to lead to items but nothing ever happens. Need a chocobo or something?

Is there any way to check my progress on certain trophies? Like if I want to see what items I still need for Treasure Hunter. Or do I have to just go down the list of things I have vs. required items?

Ok I got a couple of random questions.

Firstly let me tell you where I'm at, I just completed the story and have just gone back to GP to do missions and Upgrade weapons. My Characters are almost fully maxed at level 9 Crystarium.

My first question regards 5* missions. I went back to redo missions which i didn't 5 star the first time and even though I killed my mark in like 2-3 rounds of my ATB i still didn't 5* the mission. This has happened to all the missions i've redone, it's like the time i need to kill them now is much shorter than how long i had first time round. Is this because I've got high level weapons? or why is this??

Second Question is about farming Turtles. Which ones can I farm now? And do they all drop plat/traps? Cause i killed one that dropped gold dust for me, but they didn't have the legs that you could hit. Also how do i distinguish the different types of turtles, they all look the same to me.

Adamanchelids (the easiest ones) have no horns and you can't target the legs, they drop Gold Dust common and Scarletite rarely. You can kill them easily (MED/SYN/SAB until bravery/faith and deprotect/deshell/imperil are up, then RAV/RAV/COM or RAV/COM/COM to death).

Adamantortoises have horns, but have no bags and shit on their backs. They have targetable legs and lower HP than Adamantoises. They hang out guarding the paths to the northern part of Archlyte Steppe.

Adamantoises have horns as well, but have bags and shields on their back. They patrol Archlyte Steppe and there's 1 in Eden Plaza. They have targetable legs too.

Both Adamantortoises and Admantoises drop Platinum Ingots as their normal drop, with Trapezohedrons as their rare drop, supposedly with the exact same drop percentages.

You can probably kill both Adamantoises/Adamantortoises using the Summon/Death trick. Once you get some jobs maxed you can try just summoning and enfeebling/beating the Adamantortoises to death.

If you're looking to farm them, make sure you don't complete all of the missions from the Cieth stones in a circular pattern (just leave 1 undone or something if you're doing them) in the northeast of Archlyte. Completing all of those missions will cause all them to be replaced with (much harder) Long Guis and Shao Long Guis.

Please don't make me read ten pages of farming spots thread. Can you explain the summon death trick?

Your 3rd person can really be anyone, I went with Hope on SYN for Haste/buffs (Idk if faith actually helps). I seem to have better luck landing death if the mob is staggered, so you can go SAB/SAB/SYN or SAB/SAB/RAV.

Accessories for Vanille should be Sprint Shoes for auto haste, then fill out the rest with +MAG stuff. Make sure someone in your party has Collector's and/or Connoisseur's Catalogs equipped.

Go into the fight and immediately summon Hecatonchier. Press Square/X to go into Gestalt mode (you can press select to skip the summoning/gestalt transformation animations), then press Triange/Y to send the eidolon away. This should immediately disable Adamantortoises legs and make it kneel over.

As soon as your other party members come back start casting Death. Fang should start debuffing the mob and Hope should start either buffing you or driving up the chain gauge. Just keep casting Death over and over, it might take a lot of casts for it to work. If you see the mob start to stand up you should probably press start + retry, since you'll probably die in 1 stomp.

edit: And be patient. Sometimes death lands in 3 casts, sometimes you have to retry 2-3 times before it works.

I've been fighting the Adamantortoise just north of the Save Point in the north-center of the map (the one facing north in the valley there). If I don't get a plat/trapezo I just restart since it's right there.
    here you go

You don't necessarily have to instantly get rid of the Eidolon. The Eidolon will usually stagger Adamantortoise's before it leaves, which makes things simple. There really is no large upside to having the others there. Other than getting Faith up on Vanille much faster. Your auto haste will drop as the Eidolon leaves and be replaced before your next death can go off.

If you are trying this after you have completed the game you should be able to do a Sab/Rav/Med setup and survive virtually indefinitely til death lands. If you are pre tier10 just retry when you die if it doesn't land.

Just a note, doing this before you complete the Neochu (CP Egg) mission is just a plain waste of time and effort. If you can kill an adamantortoise you can kill that thing, it just may take some time and planning. Getting 80k CP a kill is much better than 40k.

Last note... You do not need to work towards Van's 5th ATB slot as Death uses "ALL" slots and not 5. The worst thing about getting Nirvana is that it takes that much more time in order to cast Death for not an upgrade to "Improved Debuffing II"

I'm almost done with upgrading Helter-Skelter.

What's the easiest way to obtain a single Trap for Omega Weapon? I'm on chapter 12 - Eden, is it too early or should I just go for Death trick on Adaman?

Vanille's about to get Death but I haven't touched her weapons yet...so her MAG is pretty weak.

don't upgrade Helter Skelter, progress the story until you get Lionheart or have enough money to upgrade Axis Blade, and by then you'll be able to start farming Traps for all your weapons not just Lightning's.

Helter Skelter is kinda a crappy choice considering the other options but if you really had your heart set on it you could probably take out a turtle with Death, just might take a bunch of tries.

    Yep, just got Lionheart.

Well, if Helter/Gladius is that bad I guess I'll just go with Lionheart, thanks Atreides.
