staggered maybe.
enfire/faithra/bravera/taming pole ultimate/3 Kaiser/Genji and I usually only his shenlongs 550k-ish when theyre staggered. Don't think I even come close to breaking 40k when theyre unstaggered. Of course, it's been like a week since I last fought one and maybe I'm not remembering correctly
Only reason I use genji on fang for longs is highwind, with 3x kaiser * + taming kain's * I barely break 100k with enfire. Shaolong I do 550k.
how do you get enfire on turtles controlling Fang? I've been told that using Imperil will do it but it hasn't worked on toises for me. haven't tried any of the blue guys yet, are they different?
I could be mistaken but I'm pretty sure I had a turtle down and sat in SYN/SYN/SYN for ages after using Imperil and Deshell, and I still never got Enfire. and I know both Hope and Light have it.
oh, I was talking about regular turtles. toises and tortoises. knocked down, staggered to 999%, easily hitting that mark with Bravera and Deprotect (no Enfire, see the above post lol)
for reference, I have crystarium maxed out, max Kain's Lance via Taming Pole, and three maxed Power Gloves on her usually, sometimes just two (no Dark Matter for Knuckles yet)
For the Enfire question, the enemy must be weak to fire. They won't cast it otherwise. So you shouldn't see this for Adamantortoises/Adamantoises. They cast it when you fight Shaolong Guis/Long Guis.
Enfire is cast after Haste/Protect/Shell/Brave/Faith are cast, I think. It might just be after Haste/Protect/Shell but I forget.
oh, I bet that's where imperil comes in - I've heard casting it will make your support Enfire you right away isntead of waiting. that's what I've heard, anyway.
Imperil makes things that have normal resistant weak to that element. So yes if you're fighting something that is normal and cast imperil, it will weaken it to all elements and your support will start enfiring people. But if you fight something that is like half resistant to spells, then it won't enfire even with imperil because that will only make them normal to it.
the only requirement's ive noticed that are needed for Lightning to cast Enfire on turtles is for everyone to have protect/shell on and the target must have 2-3 different debuffs on.
I would have protect/shell/brave/faith on everyone, but lightnign still wouldnt cast enfire, until I got a couple debuffs on the target.
This is incorrect. They'll only cast enspells on things that have elemental weaknesses, and as far as I can tell, even then, they'll only cast it if imperil is up.
Toise/tortoise don't have any elemental weakness, even when down. Longs/shaolongs have weakness to all elements (at least when down), and even on their legs.
You can imperil a leg and light will start enfiring as soon as she realizes you're giving out -ra buffs, but if you don't imperil you can sit there with every other buff your entire party can provide and she'll do jack shit.
Um, its imperil that creates the elemental weaknesses in the case of shao/longs. Toise/Tortoise don't have them because normally (regardless of whether they are up or down) they have half resistance, imperil brings them to normal. Longs/Shaos have them because they have normal elemental resistance and imperil pushes them into the weakness.
So no, imperil isn't needed for enfire casting. It'll just make it happen when it makes something change from normal to weak. If something is weak to begin with, then enfire (or other en elements) will still be cast whether or not something has imperil on.
I just picked up this game today finally (waited til the semester ended):
What is the one thing, are the several things, you wished you knew at the beginning?(nothing storyline/spoiler related - Like tips for the actual leveling, battling, equipment gaining, etc, is what I'm getting at)
Don't sell anything that doesn't include "can be sold for a premium" in its description.
Don't spend too much time on this forum or else shit will get spoiled.
Otherwise, have fun, enjoy the experience, because it'll be 5 years before there's another one.
(I miss "new-FF-each-year" days)
I am betting it will be a much shorter time frame till the next one. Now they have their engine built and ready to go so all they have to do is focus on story/gameplay etc. I also think that the next one will correct a lot of the things people hated in 13 that was caused by them streamlining the experience.
I think a lot of the time in development for this was spent building the Crystal Tools engine. let's hope they put it to good use with FFXV.
on another note, it is a whole new level of nerd to not only know a game, but to know the name of the engine the game was built onand knowing why they called it Crystal Tools just adds salt to the geekwounds.
To be fair, most younger folk (all?) know about FFXIII =P.
Also, I bet we won't have to wait 5 years for FFvs.XIII, especially after XIV comes out. They may actually be able to stick to one-a-year cycle at least until Versus is out.
After that I hope XV is at least halfway done.
Speaking of FFXV, any chance it could be this?
It's supposed to be a FFXII sequel, and we know each main FF game is an entirely new world but SE is also known for breaking their "traditions" whenever they feel like doing it, so who knows.
Loved FFXII and the Tech Demo on that page looks very promising, would be awesome if it turns out to be FFXV.
I think fortress was speculated to be a FF spinoff as opposed to the next numbered FF.
So uh...where do I find chocobos? Ive been running around killing turtles for CP/Traps/Ingots but ive never seen a single golden bird anywhere.
