I thought Rare Catalog doesn't affect it since its a 1% drop rate.

Also, how do you spawm Long Guis and Shaolong Guis? I don't want to get them by accident.

... It affects all rare drops. Rare Catalog increases rare drops by 1.1x, 5 Starring battles increases it by 5x

:/ getting bored of this game, I got to I think Capt. 11 or 12 or something, were the opening cutscene was like.. everyone on their summons, interrupting a race, then they start attacking people for ??? reasons.

How much longer of the game do I have before I can go back to the fun open field? :s

I think that's Eden IIRC, you're one chapter away from finishing the game. After Eden, the Final Dungeon is next/last chapter. You're given the option to return to Gran Pulse before entering the Final Dungeon. Also, once you get to the room in final dungeon, you can also return back to portal floor and return to Eden/Gran Pulse before doing final boss.

for the record i didn't use the rare catalog at all while farming turtles and i still got all 6 that i need by the time i maxed everyone out because i didn't grind at all till i beat the game and the last time i played i think i'm up to like 20 ingots i need to sell in my inv still lol.

I mostly used Collector's since I needed more Gil over Traps. That and Long Guis drop Traps a shitload. I got 4 in a row at once without Rare Catalog...

What affects how long a turtle stays on the ground? Because when I take it down without a summon it gets up quicker than it usually does when I do take it down with a summon.

I believe it's just a static timer independent of everything. However, when you have an Eidolon out, the timer is fixed at 0.

Also I just got my first Trapezohedron, should I upgrade/dismantle to get more or just upgrade one of my weapons?

if you can kill the turtles w/o the summon upgrade the taming pole for fang with the trap, she rapes turtles with that shit + genji gloves, just keep killing turtles and you will get the hang of how to time everything. don't forget to use the guide i posted too, it explains all the stages of how to kill turtles efficiently

I forget the exact mission number (i think its 54). You will fight a Giant Cactuar atop the hills where Turtles are. once you kill him, the Turtles change forever.

to be honest, i found farming much easier after the Guis pop. They may seem harder, but as mentioned earlier in this thread and also other topics in this forum, they are pretty easy to kill and the drop rate it so much better. They have like 3x the HP as the regular Turtle, but you can slow them (anytime) and poison (when knocked down). Poison absolutely obliterates their HP. once you're leveled enough, you can take them out after 2 knockdowns. I was fairly under-leveled when I mistakenly spawned them. so I really had no choice but to learn how to kill them. (yea, i saved over the game like a dumbass) and only had a lv2 spear for Fang and a lv2 blade for Light

Why does Death do so much damage when you switch to COM/COM/COM during it?

Also I don't get how you control the Gestalt moves every time I input the command for a certain move I get Autogestalt.

the amount of COM's multiply the rate at which the damage bonus is applied. also the Role lvl raises the bonus as well. so 3 lv5 COMs does the most dmg. COM's bonus is augments attack, so the more COMs, the more the bonus

kind of like how the more SAB's you have in party, the higher your chances of debuffing successfully. each job has bonuses that apply when you have more people on that job

Also I don't get how you control the Gestalt moves every time I input the command for a certain move I get Autogestalt.

are you holding the analog stick in a direction as well as pressing X, or are you just pressing X? or w/e the equivalent of X is for xbox.
