If my linkshell RMTd our earning we would make $12,000 in a month selling at a low $/gil. So I don't understand how it compares to flipping burgers. Just sayin.

I'm going to guess that's about $2.50 per man-hour at the absolute most. The only way it makes any kind of sense is if you've got a 20-man crew locking down the server 24/7 to make money for one or two leaders who keep everything.

Number one thing I despise about botting is people who brag about being able to claim with a bot, and make it a point to shove it in our faces. Shit always gets under my skin.

It was always my idea that all HNM LS bot regardless of hating it or not. I'd assume maybe someone does in BG LS and hasn't gotten caught yet as well.

There is always someone who hasnt been caught, but its not because we encourage or condone it. Like a bartender who has his hand in the till, you dont always know until it becomes blatantly obvious. Weve had accusations turn out true, and punishment was dealt, weve had accusations turn out false, and some that simply were not clear enough for us to determine if there was a guilty party or not.

The best accusations have always been the ones where its people who dont play on PC or people who have enough knowledge on the PC to barely get the game running, let alone work out a bot program actually functioning. A member accused of botting when Im looking at them on my friends list on xbox 360, another member accused of botting who can barely keep his computer functioning on its own, let alone know how to set up a bot properly. Life can be hilarious sometimes, but if we do find out somethings true, weve acted swiftly and very painfully to that member.

I tried precognition a while back. It was inaccurate half the time and completely bugged out from dnc abilities for some reason.

Wheres the skill in claiming? Its 100% luck no matter how you do it. You're kind of dumb aren't you? The fight itself is what takes "skill", which a bot wont do for you aside from stunning a TP move. (I say "skill" because nothing really takes skill to kill anymore)

keep it civil people, this is the best conversation on the forums weve ever had about botting. The brutal honesty of how people see the world of vanadiel and how they compete in it. If anything it will send a message to future generations of MMO developers that the world spawn system is how you DONT do your games.

The only "real" way to show skill in ffxi is through instanced stuff really, or at least stuff where you don't have to worry about messing up, dying, wiping, and some other group taking claim off you. No one's gonna risk anything new on a pop HNM without having either loads of back-up or absolutely zero competition there, but on a mission fight or other BCNM, it's much "safer" to fool around and try new things. Hell, the Kings system could be argued to promote a very narrow way of playing, "this strat works, we can't afford to try something new, wipe, and give our competition a free mob with low HP, so we'll just stick to what we already know". And that's never a good thing.
