How can one know for sure that others aren't botting? If I stop using my bot, how will I know for sure that no other person is using a bot?

It's a system of assumptions and undeniable anxiety. Ever does the fear of someone else botting linger, and thusly, others will undertake the task of botting as well, to overcome the fear of being left behind. There is no way to stop it. Stop trying, start botting, or quit the game.

I'm not going to pretend that botting will go away just because we bitch at those who do it. The only thing that will get rid of botting is action on SE's part. Any changes they make to make bots obsolete would likely make other advantages you pointed out obsolete as well.

EDIT: I'm not delusional. I highly doubt SE will ever make bots obsolete.

If you're werent fucking autistic, you'd know that Excellence's bot is now broken from merge, thus we are left without one for now (it was discussed in a few threads). Of the ~10 NMs we've camped we've claimed 1. With 7-8 (depending on the day) shells present, we're still well within the normal range to claim our fair share. With no bot. Let me repeat that. With no bot, we claimed Nidhogg. This is nothing new, as only a few people in the ls actively botted when we had it.

I'm defending it? My first post was telling you to stop complaining on a forum, and kill darters + spam. If you bring enough people who spam, eventually you will claim your share. If you have someone on your server with a linked bot, tough luck, they will (on average) claim more often than people without one, but thats how HNM goes. Its not impossible, just harder for non botters.

Ok, you've addressed one of the things I've said in a way that does have some logic. Fair enough. What about the inherent bias that has been pointed out by people other than myself? You've made it clear that think it's unlikely that Square Enix will ever fix the system. Given this, should people with subpar PCs be expected to either upgrade their computers ($$$) or to remain at a severe disadvantage?
