It's been brought up several times already, you're just keen on ignoring it, but claiming without a bot isn't always practical. Try claiming HNM on a single core PC (without doing any sort of DAT mods or whatever.) You will be at a severe disadvantage.

What? I agree that using a bot when everyone else is is commonsense if you want to claim. Not botting is the state of normalcy, on the ground, getting on the bandwagon is botting. That's all I was saying.

I'm not going to say what you said about botting being a bandwagon isn't true, but if you're going to argue about this then you're just trying to undermine credibility of every opposing poster instead of trying to formulate a valid rebuttle.

Not botting is not the state of normalcy in DA/VoS/BD during king windows and we aren't talking about the entire ffxi community because the vast majority will never pursue HNMs.

Botting is common sense, because if you have enough playtime to be active within a well run and organised HNM ls you can purchase one of the several packet bots with linked camping feature and make the money back in a few weeks by selling drops, then sustain a decent claim rate which will easily provide an overall benefit when compared to removing .dats and spamming enter.

Also, Greed, desire to win, etc are all perfectly valid human reasons for bending/breaking the rules, and if you want to use the lolmoral arguement then you better be sure you define clearly what outlines all your morals.

I've clarified my post multiple times now, I will do it once more. Bots are not blocking your content. Your lazy "waaah we'll fail" attitude is blocking the content. Bots make it harder for you to access the content, sure, but they DO NOT block it.

You still have to set the bot up and try and get the claim time right. It's not just a one button press deal, it requires some effort to actually be competitive about it. Granted, being competitive without a bot requires more effort, and that's the primary reason I use one, although considering the vast majority of people use Windower for similar purposes I don't really see a problem in that.

And no, not everybody has that option. I don't know where you come off thinking people have shitloads of cash sitting around to pour into PCs so that they can claim HNM more frequently. The possibility of being able to buy a PC does not make it more fair. A $20 bot is a much cheaper expense than a $900 PC...

No I am a saint, I don't touch those third party tools. This is just circling back and forth again. To the main thing that started it, maybe you can understand why people are upset over botting. Removing botting won't necessarily fix the problem no, world spawns are flawed, but it will definitely improve it. Not everyone runs on a shitty PC, true there are those that do but they still have a chance to claim if bots are gone. They can modify their PC by taking off weather effects, lowering PC count on the screen among other things.

Compared to paying $900 for a PC? Seems a lot more fair to me. The chance of being banned is non-existent unless you're using the bot for other things than claiming.
