They should probably go ahead and make all the avatar items re-obtainable as well.
Sent my reply as well, this story reminds me of a saying...
"Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned."
I can see my Girlfriend doing the same thing if we ever parted on bad terms as well.
Good luck dude. Sent the suggestion as well.
It's one of the reasons why I won't ever leave my toon logged in overnight. The last thing I need is for someone to walk by my computer, and just drop my shit.
For what it's worth Chaz, I sent in the email.
I know how hard it is to get that belt - I got mine after 3 years of trying to get the Egg.
This.
It sucks, but bugging GMs isn't gonna do anything, they can't change the policy for it. I find it a little ridiculous you would bother bugging GMs over 4 years after the first one said no. Their hands are tied, like it or not.
E-mailing and calling would be only options, but I doubt SE will change their policy. For what it's worth, I sent one in too.
Password protect your shit. Don't give the passwords to your woman. Obvious solution is to start working on a LS to defeat AV...![]()
Women are the root of all evil. Will send them an email.
I hope this somehow works out for you because as upset as you are now, it's going to be so much worse when cap goes up and they add a red belt quest in which you must trade in your black belt to obtain.
Holy lol, yes.
Sent a message. Best of luck.
I will say this though. Many have reported on these forums that GMs can do things that they claim are outside their parameters. Someone mentioned how their Khim mule got jailed and when the GM said he was gonna send it back to home point they just bitched the GM out til he put it back where he was. Point being it's not impossible that if you find the right GM you can maybe get a little further atleast than this clown.
I'm not sure if Logic is the same as Decrete Math, but your argument is correct if you change "has the item" to "obtained the item" to convey that he no longer has it.
However, logical or not, the problem is that the GM wants empirical rather than deductive (inductive?) evidence.
Nice.
Ah, I remember that screenshot. Was pretty damn funny, I admit.
But I do agree, their terms and conditions for an "investigation" are ridiculously outdated. But it won't change, and we can only hope (lol) that this system doesn't carry over to FFXIV for those planning to play it.
yea, SGM or LGM are the only people who would be able to do something about it. Think of it like calling your cable company. The min.wage tech on the other end of the phone is gonna tell you to reboot your router 16 times in a row. A supervisor or higher level tech might actually look into it.
Would it be possible to complete the quest with full inventory space, get the title, but not get the item?
Other than that, Completely agree.
As silly as it may sound, and I'm sure you have tried it, have you tried talking with the BB NPC? >.>
Best of luck Chaz, you definitely deserve it back with 0 work after the bullshit they've put you through for so long.
I can't help but point out that:
Isn't true as you obviously do have the title, but don't have the item. QED thatP=He has the title
Q=He has the item
The game holds that when you obtain the title, you also obtain the item. Therefore, we can establish that P=>Q.
We can also say that Q=>P, because if you have the item, you also have the title. Therefore, if P is true, Q must also be true, or P=Q.
However, I'm in support of this. It might require (*gasp*) a little work on SEs side, but there's no reason they can't "fix" certain quests to re-hand out these items for a price ("You lostaru your black belt? I suppose I could get you another one but it won't be cheap!" Hand over 1,000,000g?)
At the very least in this situation there's no financial or game benefit to be had by tossing your BB since you can't sell it or anything. Even reflagging the quest would be preferable to never having it again...
And the point about the ToaU rings is a good one. With the type of game ffxi is, there's really no reason any decision or item loss needs to be permanent. There really should be a way to get back anything given some additional time/a lengthy wait/a high price.
