The game holds that when you obtain the title, you also obtain the item. Therefore, we can establish that P=>Q.

We can also say that Q=>P, because if you have the item, you also have the title. Therefore, if P is true, Q must also be true, or P=Q.

Now, a simple investigation will show that the item is not in his inventory, and that he indeed has the title.

To say that he never owned the item would be a clear contradiction. Therefore, based on how this game works (you can't trade rare/ex items) the only possibility is that the item was dropped.

Shit sucks because as someone else already stated, I can see an upcoming Red Belt quest with the level cap increase which would require the BB. Good luck.

Unless they up the haste cap I doubt they will add another belt, but it would be cool if they add NIN and SAM to it at later levels, but that's just wishful thinking.

Actually, if they added a new quest later that required trading the Black Belt, that might actually increase the chances of them making it re-obtainable.

I think it's possible. Especially if it's given enough community exposure and support. Just make sure to write something detailed but short, and intelligible. Like: "I'd like to see rare quested items such as the Black Belt become reobtainable in the case of an accident" Not: "LOL se U r so gay. U suck for not doing anything write LOL".

Something huge like remaking the entire game with better graphics and UI is unrealistic. Something small like trading a Brown Belt to the Neptune Spire door to give a new Black Belt sounds feasible. Or reobtaining Evoker's Ring or ToA ring, etc.

Square has responded in the past. After a lot of pressure they finally made Ulli into a spawn NM. Players wanted HNM that spawned in a wide variety of areas, and they got it (some people hate this, I know, notwithstanding). Players suggested adding a crate with cells to the Salvage entrance. After posting here about the lack of expansion titles in auto-translate they became implemented. They've changed Dynamis drop rates, and lowered the Remnant Permit cost. Reobtaining rare quest items seems like a good suggestion to me.
