    Titan's path Missions - Tonberry x3

Ok so I've been running through these going all the different routes to complete all of the missions. Most of them have been no problem at all, and in fact quite easy. I'm not sure which # this one is, but its the one with the 3 tonberrys. How the fuck are you supposed to beat this? I can usually take out 1, which takes forever and a day since they have a 666% stagger rate, then sometimes they use this grudge move which seems to restore all their HP. Usually when I get the first one down, the 2nd one will do some other grudge move around 50% health that one shot's lightning from damn near full health. Is there some trick I am missing to this one? For the record i'm running Light/Fang/Hope, all have Random:Instant Stagger which like I said usually helps me kill the first one, but the 2nd one does that gay one shot grudge shit. Also annoying that you can't buff since knife seems to dispel buffs. Any tips?

If it helps, all jobs are level 4, almost level 5 on everyones "main" job, do I need to grind more?

These are super easy to pre-emptive strike without using Deceptisol. You should be able to take out two immediately with COM/RAV/RAV -> Highwind at 999%. Then rush down the last one before he can get grudge off. I think I did COM/RAV/RAV until chain was about 300%, then switched to COM/COM/RAV to push it down.

I've not been able to preempt them, they always turn last second.

Edit: pre-empted with a decitisol since I have like 10 anyway, was only able to zerg one down fast.

They're susceptible to sleep, or whatever that spell is called in the localization. Sleep two, burn down the third as hard as possible, avoid AOEs/en-spells as they very easily break Sleep. Repeat on remaining two. Fight is hard as hell without a pre-emptive.

Easiest way, control Lightning, pre-emp them, start with Quake to stagger, Summon Odin, Use Zentetzuken.

I used a deceptisol and was able to burn them down np... but I failed miserably without it.

These guys suck hard. Get that pre-empt!

I tried with a deceptisol a few times. I'm usually able to burn the first one down, but the stagger wears off just around the time im done killing the first one. I've tried both COM COM RAV and COM RAV RAV, again, first one always dies while stagger wears, leaving me with 2 ton's, and the next one always does the gay grudge move around 50%. I don't think it's my gear or skill, all my characters have fully upgraded level 2 weapons, just waiting on Trap's to get final stage relic, and as previously stated, all characters have 1 level 5 job, and working on the 2nd. Should I grind more?

SEN will help loads in this fight. I used Snow (for the first time in forever) in this fight, and had him constantly on SEN while Lighting switched between MED, COM and RAV and Hope between RAV, MED and SYN.

Ultimately, you want to have paradigms like:

    MED SEN MED
    COM/RAV SEN MED
    RAV SEN RAV
    COM SEN RAV
    RAV SEN SYN
    COM SEN SYN

I think I used something like that. If Snow's HP gets low, pop into MED SEN MED for a bit. When you're buffing up, use anything with SYN (stop as soon as Lightning and Hope are buffed, Snow will constantly get debuffed so you'll waste time buffing him), then you just focus on 1 Tonberry until it dies. Give Snow some reduction gear if he still takes too much damage. Take your time with this fight, I'm pretty sure I did this slowly and still got 5 stars.

To Pre-Emp them you have to aggro them, then run back after they run forward, they'll all turn around around the same time, then jst run in

Wanna win in 30 seconds? Little luck based but you can definitely get it within 5 tries

Here's what you do. Lightning has to be your party leader.

Start in a paradigm that has her as a RAV, with a Fortisol and Deceptisol

    After you start the fight:

    1) Cast Quake. Staggers all 3. If one isn't staggered hit it with your ravager(s)
    2) Summon Odin immediately.
    3) Fill up Odin's Gestalt bar, it fills fast and you want to go into Gestalt Mode as soon as you can, immediately after it fills
    4) Go into Gestalt Mode and spam Thunderfall (the Circle button attack) until you only have enough attacks left for 1 more
    5) Use Zantetsuken lv.3. It has to be lv.3, and that means your bar has to have been filled.

If everything went right all 3 of them are going to die and you're going to 5 star the mission.

Sometimes only one or two of them will die. This either means that a thunderfall (or more) missed, or they weren't staggered. Eventually, usually under 5 attempts, you'll get it right and win.

I just did this on my second save for easier 5 star than on my first save:

Why bother doing stuff with Odin Tymon? A Quake will get them near stagger after pre-emp and it will break 1/4th into Zantetsuken, shit be dead, 9 sec win.

I beat it last night, what I did was Aegisol/Fortisol (i'm sitting on tons of these) pre-empted, quake right away, all were staggered, and com/com/com'd them to death (since stagger puts them at 888 I believe) and it was over in about 10 seconds. Couldn't fucking believe how easy it was lol.

yeah.. the tonberry suck. They'll either go extremely quick or take forever. If you don't kill one in the 1st 10 seconds just give up.
and you can pre-empt them w/o deceptol or agroing them 1st. you just have to get really really close to them. I'm pretty sure theres some kind of noise agro with many mobs that will make them react after a certain amount of time. I just walk up as close as I can to them then wait and wait.
