What's with the valks just floating above the platform?

It's how the encounter works, the valks don't doe, they stay at 1% and fly back up and one will come down randomly. It will not come sown durin an actual valk phase though.

I saw like 2 people get dropped off, did they figure out a way to make it so that only warlocks picked up or something?

Right now it seems that the encounter is just luck based. You keep going at it until the RNG is nice enough to let you win.
