Shouldn't classified documents remain classified if releasing them is potentially threatening to national security? At the same time, shouldn't the government be transparent in all matters non-confidential? The website looks like a bunch of conspiracy theorists to me.

Ironically, wikileaks posted the secret CIA report where they were talking about how dangerous wikileaks is:

and these are some of the reasons they say wikileaks is dangerous:

Nearly the entire order of battle for US forces in Iraq and Afghanistan as of April 2007.

Alleged revelations that the US government violated the Chemical Weapons Convention in Iraq and Afghanistan.[19]

Well that's the thing. It's not well known IN the USA. Which is not surprising.

And yes, classified documents should remain hidden if they threaten national security, unforturnately, governments also like to say that the naughty things they do should also be hidden because getting embarassed is a threat to national security.
