The show doesnt hit its stride through midway of the second episode.

It's used often in fight scenes but later episodes are less fight centric than the first. Still a fight in every show though so don't worry about it being boring.

I should also mention the slow-mo panned shot in the finale in that room with the water was amazing.

nope didn't do any of that kind of reading/watching, never been interested too much in the roman era.

i just dont see how they can go from this to some major slave uprising/massive war without sacrificing the feel of the first season. especially to noobs like me.

I think the show starts really starts to pick up past episode three and becomes more than just fighting in the arena
