I do have to agree with you, without the arena/gladiatorial theme in there the show could take a turn for the worst. Definitely one of the best one season shows I've ever seen though, and I hope Andy recovers from cancer.

and then the new guy will be in season 2, or it may get a new subtitle and be "season 1" but it will be the sequel/continuation to Blood and Sand afaik.
