Just make Flash like Blink Dagger, the item that inspired it.
You can't use it if you have been in combat for 3 seconds or so, so mostly can only be used for initiation.

Flash is fine. The downside from having Blink Dagger is that it removes the CD, essentially creating an even bigger problem. If you're bitching about one Annie flash-tibbers combo. Imagine a fed Annie having the Flash-Tibbers combo every single team fight . It's either remove it or keep it; turning flash into an item wouldn't solve anything and honestly would probably make the problem worse to be honest.
Exactly my thought.
2150g Item. No Stats whatsoever. Just The Blink with a 15second CD, and can only be used out of combat. Promotes aggressive play, can't use it for escape unless you're good at juking through the bushes/jungle. Which is how it should be.
I'm not saying LoL should try and become a pure DotA clone, but there are just some things from DotA that were perfect for the game, which Blink Dagger, was one.
Also, I think Flash makes for a more exciting game, watching a team fight and wondering if that last person is going to escape or not. Or watching someone gank someone from the jungle, or watching someone stealing Baron or dragon.
I think Flash is more exciting when you're observing a match rather than playing in a match.
I caught myself singing the "Flash, ooahhh!" every time I used it in my game today lol.
Flash--I think it's just fine, honestly. I never use it because I suck with it. I'd like to see it kept because I really do see it used offensively quite often. Best team fight initiation ever: Alistar flash in to the middle of the enemies, knock up. Knock the carry or most dangerous person back towards our team for a summary execution.
Honestly, Teleport is probably my most used ability. Teleport/ghost on Kennen. Early game, I save it to turn a gank around top or bottom. Mid or late game, defend a tower across the map or take advantage of a free push somewhere in addition to the surprise entrance to teamfights.Teleport - No one really uses this due to the insane CD, unless you're pubbing, then go for it.
I really am sad about the wards appearing when you teleport on them now, but I agree with the change. It is so much fun to suddenly appear in the middle of a group doing Baron and pop an AOE ultimate. I'll just have to place my wards behind Baron more often now.
Teleporting to Wards was insanely hilarious.
Played with a group a friends one day and we decided "Hey, let's all do teleport" needless to say we saw the other team had a jungler. So what we did was had one person buy a ward and warded blue. The moment we saw the jungler pop up at blue and started fighting it we all ported to the ward at the exact same time and proceeded to rape his shit. Was hilarious to see.
While I would prefer having a Blink Dagger in place of Flash, I don't think the change would ever come to fruition what with the game being centered on casual playing, etc.
Every game I've played this evening has been full of ragers and constant verbal abuse, from both sides, at multiple people. Losers taking their anger out on other LoL players because they're home alone on a Saturday evening?
Just bought a ASUS laptop so I can play over at my girlfriends apartment :O
Long, long game:

Pretty entertaining doing this against lv30 opponents (not to assume they're good, but if you're outnumbered I would figure they would own)

My record I think was around 1 hour, 30 minutes.
"Get used to it", is the best advice I can give you. I wouldn't even say it's because they are home alone or anything of the sort, just dying a lot and getting ganked or having an unfair lane can all make you get angry. Especially since it's summertime you're going to find a lot more kids online. If it winds up annoying you a lot, I think you can hide your chat by dragging it off the screen.
The matchmaking on this game really grinds on me. I have some friends at work who are just getting into the game, lv7 or so, and I can't play with them really because we are matched against people my level (20~24) who just dominate the newbies, and I'm not great at the gaem and can't carry their asses.
It should be, instead of an average, if you have a lv7 then they have a lv6~8 or whatever, and match the levels per character, not on average.
I would smurf account with them, but EU General and 1hr queues.
You can try playing against Bots until they are level 15-20ish. Although I do agree that the system is really stupid. Not much can be done though, aside from making a smurf.
Yeah, I just had to vent some.
EU LoL General, sat in 1hr queue. They need to split these servers already, really getting tired of this BS.
Also, quick question; did NA players get 600RP the other day for a day of downtime, or was this a troll attempt?
Ok, must've been a troll attempt, thanks for clearing it up.
Switched from HoN and goddamn does this feel so much slower, both for last hitting and running around its insane. I'd like to buy a few heroes, but I have no idea who to pick up, mostly used to AGI heroes in HoN
