As opposed to SR. Push up a lane, kill turrets kill inhibs kill nexus. Bad logic.

Dominion is just retarded when it comes to strategy IMO. It's pretty much a casual mode for people to pick up and play. You can't suck at dominion since all you do is kill people and most of the work is done for you already (farming, etc). I've seen people who suck balls at SR, destroy at Dominion. I'm not a huge fan and I actually still prefer SR and I haven't played Dominion since it was in beta testing phase, it just doesn't appeal to me or I'd imagine anyone who used to do ranked/play competitively. It's fun sure but it just feels kind of dumbed-down and there's no really pleasure since games usually end in 10-15mins. The only time I've honestly enjoyed a Dom game was when it was neck to neck and we won/lost by 1-10 points, and even then it never compared to turning back a game by stealing baron or catching their team in the jungle and executing them.
The strategy of SR isn't Push up a lane, etc. It's team compositions, winning your lane, fights over baron/dragon, farming correctly, TEAM FIGHTS, poking and knowing when to push and when to split up and do something else, warding, ganking, etc. All of these things require either small or big amounts of strategy. SR is the best strategy oriented map you'll get in LoL.
Also IEM China is starting if any of you dudes are interested.

Dominion really is super casual and absolutely lacks strategy. If you saw this in a tournament I can guarantee you the 5 guys wouldn't have much to say to each other. Your communication might as well be limited to pings. In fact, it's obvious where you should be at any given time because you have map vision of the points.
I still enjoy it though. Don't know whether or not this is because I haven't played on my main since season change, but I am absolutely raping shit on singed and having a damned good time. Just now solod myself a triple kill on a tower of ours. They killed me, I revived, and with 800 movespeed I was flingin' their shit again after a second lol.
It's weird how AP champs feel better on dominion when you get 15% arpen and only 5% mpen...
Trying to learn AP shaco :/ any suggestions? It's hard.
Don't?
lol
He has zero place in ranked, unless you're just going to troll nublets with boxes in a bush....
This. Just team composition alone in SR is more strategic than Dominion. You need a balance of damage types, you need to account for CC, sustainability for your solos, tanks and tanky champs, range and poking ability, sustainability again for team fights. All that... is just your side if you're playing blind pick. In draft you add a whole new layer on top of each of those decisions.
That said, I still mix in some Dominion because it's fun and fast. If I don't have much time or don't want to put in too much effort, I do Dominion. Also, there's always the possibility that a new meta will evolve for it and it will develop deeper strategy.
It probably just feels hard because AP shaco can't do much on his own. The build requires your opponent's to make mistakes and follow you into boxes. I don't know a lot about Shaco in general but I know whenever I see AP Shaco I just treat him kind of like Singed; ignore him in team fights and don't chase if he runs.
Well I can get my E's damage high enough to two shot/3shot squishies late game.
I think the thing I don't like about AP shaco the most is no matter how many kills you get or how fed you are, you still can't really do anything on your own.
I have played ranked yet, I'm 29 almost there after a long annoying journey.
Exactly. This is why it's a bad build. It has no sustained damage and it's burst relies on your opponent being dumb since two-shiv isn't going to drop anyone by itself. Shaco can be a good character, but AP Shaco is a build that only works vs idiots(which I'm sure you're seeing loads of since you aren't 30 yet). I wish I could lay out a good build for you, but I don't play the champ. I'm sure a few minutes on leaguecraft or a similar community site could show you the light, though.
So apparently Riot still can't get their shit together for IEM. It took them 3 hours to get one match started, LOL. I had to go to bed cause I spent 4am to 7am just waiting out of boredom and fell asleep. Oh lawd.
AP shaco is just as viable as AD shaco(Insert joke about both AD and AP shaco being equally useless). If youre not having any success with AP shaco the problem is likely your build and your mindset. AP shaco has 2 core items he needs to have to be good; Lichbane and DFG. Other great items which are essentially core, just not required are Deathcap, Evil tome, and what ever shoes+2 you want.
As shaco you have a few things your responsible for:
1. Assassinating carries.
Make full use of your Lichbane. Deceive behind someone and use your DFG while stealthed(Your passive works on the active) Hit them with your lichbane proc. Drop a JiTB and hit them again with your LB proc. Run away and when at max range throw your shiv at them. This will be a kill most of the time assuming you dont fall behind in farm which can be difficult.
2. Split pushing/BDing
Sure it makes people in general rage at you but its a part of the game at higher levels. With Lichbane and JiTBs towers will melt I can safely say you will be surprised at how fast towers will die when you have 400+ AP. Once again just make sure you make full use of lichbane.
3. Dragon and Baron
Mid and late game if you can get 3+ boxes (Spread them out so you can land several fears) at an objective you will get easy easy kills if they contest your team.
Just like AD shaco dropping boxes as mini wards always help but the difference is that they will HURT when people hit them.
Pro tip: When farming/extending/pushing place several jitbs at your escape path similar to how Teemo does it. Dont use them to farm but create escape paths for yourself; not only will the fears save you, but you will likely be able to kill the people chasing you if they hit enough of them.
AP Shaco can work.

Just played this game where we were getting our asses handed to us until we were at 19 points left and they were at 120. At which point we started absolutely clobbering them. We took four turrets and held them until the very end. Our Ashe kept yelling "MAP!" at us while she was wandering all over the place all alone. I played like shit.

clarity MF; "noob strategy" lol.
I can't see why you'd have clarify on ANYONE in dominion, much less MF.
LOL @ Clarity in Dominion. In MF's defense though she was only level 19 (summoner). ish?
Poppy is pretty fun on dominion. So many spots to charge people in to.
She seems to be able to stun against thin air in dominion.
My last 6 games as Eve in Dominion have been absolute slaughters. I've been 3:1 k/d ratio while placing each time. It's funny how soon people forget about stealth after you walk into the middle. Make it seem like you are running, smack them with Ravage and Lichbane proc and they are instantly missing a large portion of their health. Pop ult and run if you can't get them with Hate spikes. Stealth, run back in and do it again. It seems like nobody EVER suspects that you'll come back. It's like they forget everything they've ever known about stealth characters because the pace of the game is faster.
I love playing against stealth heros, Lightbringer is the bane of every invis champ. Freaking love that item, as soon as I see an Akali, Eve, or Twitch, I'm just like, "Mmmmmmmmmmm free farm"
