Except Aegis is considered one of the best items in the game?
Except Aegis is considered one of the best items in the game?
Not really. It's pretty costly. Yeah, it's cost effective in terms of bang for your buck, but you have to think about who is buying this Aegis. In IPL3 and IEM NYC I've actually seen a lot of Dignitas's jungler Jatt grabbing Aegis and I'd have to say I really like it, it helps them with early dragon/team fights and it's a pretty solid buy on a jungler. BUT at the same time it sort of gimps you in terms of actual power. You're not going to win that team fight cause your AD carry had 10 extra AD.
It's a nice item but it's sort of a risky play. You sacrifice your utility for slightly stronger team presence and I say slightly cause it's only like 10 damage and 10 armor/mr (roughly). Imagine that 2k gold spent on something else, adding a slow to your team via Phage or giving you a stronger aoe comp though Randuins or Sunfires. Aegis doesn't actually do anything aside from give you really weak and flat stats.
I sound like I'm bashing Aegis but I'm not. I wasn't saying buying Aegis is a bad idea, rather that there are better options if you're going to use that route of trying to support your team through auras. Starks is much more noticeable or WotA, and you can ask any body and they'll probably say the same thing. Not to mention the stats given by Starks/WotA are harder to obtain. Even the spell vamp takes up a spot that could be used for another Rabas or a utility item like Zhonyas/CDR Reduction.
I like Aegis, has always helped out greatly if obtained early, but not late or even late mid. Can't say if its any good in Dominion though, someone else would have to vouch for that.
Not a fan of Soul Shroud, I do like Abyssal on certain champs when we have AP on the team and I am on AP especially, expensive but lots of goodies in one.
WotA is usually always fun fun for its cost~
I'm not suggesting a carry get Aegis, but something like a jungle rammus or amumu or on a sona, soraka, or janna it's a pretty valuable item.
what's the difference @ playstyle between shaco ap and ad?
AP dances, AD shreds
AP shaco is about getting people to run into 3 or 4 boxes and then die.
finesse play with ap, have to know how to place boxes perfectly with team fights and shiving the right people. good clone play and knowing when to get in and out. deceive used mostly for an escape.
ad, you basically deceive in and get the crit, shiv+box and melee a person down.
Pretty sure if you go AD shaco you're better off with other options, yes?
AP isn't the best either, but it's probably some of the most fun you'll have out of all the champions. But you have to have lady luck on your side and get people dumb enough to walk into multiple boxes. Or force teamfight into a field of boxes at dragon/baron or jungle somewhere.
why do most jax builds show stacking magic penetration instead of armor penetration? His abilities scale with both with the exception of counter attack and most of his damage comes from auto attack when you are in team fights.
Every third hit, the bonus damage he gets from his ult is magical. So even his auto attacks end up doing some magic damage.
Im an avid Jax player and I dont see where M.Pen fits anywhere in his build. The only A.pen and M.Pen you should be buying is in your masteries. As for runes I dont see any real option that is better than Flat AD Marks and quints, dodge seals, and M.res/Lv glyphs. (The only acceptable replacement imo is Flat AP glyphs).
So Gunblade is finally getting nerfed with this patch. It will be interesting to see how much it hurts Jax and Akali but I think it was a much needed change.
