As for Kennen a fed middle game will make the other team unable to engage on him without taking a larger loss than Kennens team. His ult can be nastier than fiddles if he can land a full combo on several people.

Katarina would not be scary if it wasnt for her passive. If she can fight 5v5 and not die first she will be able to combo her spells faster than anyone in the game. Once you have no cc to stop her ult, its basically a GG as she can ult 2-3 times in a full team fight.
most of these situations don't really happen in ranked though, aside from the kassadin one and the reason why sion is fotm is because he hard counters morgana and kassadin. katarina is not good, and kennens ult like qeo mentioned is just not consistent and hes very easy to pummel down unless hes 'omg fed to shit'. most people don't get fed enough in the right matches, or at least they don't in any of my games.

Tell you what though, when playing Kassadin and get fed and have blue buff. OMG fun. Except when your team sucks ass and you end up losing because you as Kassadin are not a great at destroying structures.

Olaf is also pretty hyper carry-ish, once he gets his core items he is almost unkillable, I don't really know how much his ult change has affected that though.

I'll agree with that. Fucking was Trynd top vs Olaf. Riven(their jungler) was putting constant pressure on me and kept me out of creep waves and basically fucked me hard core. While our jungler only visited top once, found it was warded, and never came back. So, I got fucked hardcore. He ended up with a 2 level advantage and I was extremely underfarmed as I was unable to budge from my tower. He ended up WAY out itemizing me as well so it was pretty much a joke of a fight.

I'm starting to think that League of Legends is like poker.. You have to adapt your playstyle to match those around you even if it's not right.. Like in poker, the big tournaments people play very tight and so if you play loose, you will get bounced quickly.. But if you go to a home game or less formal poker game, and play tight while everyone else around you is playing loose, you will lose even if you are trying to play the "right way".. So in these cases, you have to play as loose or looser than your opponents.. I'm thinking in normal queue or lower elo ranked matches, you can't play the same style as pro players do.. You can't just farm all day cuz your team will be off team fighting every minute.. You can't just jungle and assume someone will be able to solo top because most cases they will be having to 2v1 and will get worked and you won't be able to gank any other lane other than top.. Maybe buying pink wards is worthless cuz most of the time your opposition won't be buying many wards cuz they just don't care/understand.. Maybe playing support bot is pointless because your ranged AD can't last hit for shit and now neither of you are getting gold.. I'm sure there's much more, but figured I'd throw that out there..

The problem with that is, that in porker its just you, so you're fully capable of adapting within a certain degree. You can't make those others adapt for you.

That goes to my point.. You can't make 4 people play the way you want to.. You have to play within their parameters or you'll be on an island probably causing more harm than good.. So many people complain about ELO Hell and how they play right and still lose.. But maybe playing right, down in the gutters, isn't as helpful.. Hell, maybe i'm way off base..

If you want to avoid/get out of ELO Hell, duo queue only..

Nah, my point is that some people just aren't good/consistent(I have consistency issues, I'll either be the best ever at last hitting and have an awesome game and do everything right, or I'll blow chunks). But some people are just bad 100% of the time. And it's very hard to win 3v5 or 4v5 because someone went 0-5 in the first 10 minutes of the game.

Idk why, but I'm playing a lot of dominion(for the 1 win a day, pretty much) and I want to know what you guys think about heimer being better top than bottom.

The initial battle for the top has a weird dynamic. Either A) people take turns running in/out throwing skillshots or whatever and interrupting captures with their own captures or B) one team decides to just run in and try and kill the other team. If you have/are against a Heimer you can't do A) because any good heimer should have 2 points in rockets(you're pretty much level 4, but even then - I go 1 turret 2 rockets because by the time you need stun you're 4) and will hurt. I also grab ionian boots - this is probably a bad idea, but idfk, and so the CD with runes and masteries is -30%. Anyway, heimer kind of forces an engagement unlike any other champ there because unlike SR there are no minions and you can't run back out of rocket range.

And it goes without saying that the team who rushes in is at a HUGE disadvantage because not everyone will go at the same time/your fourth(guy who capped mid) has more distance to cover to get to teamfight/and their fourth is closer.

Anyone else agree..? I always get kind of upset when EVERYONE says heimer go bot because "heimer owns bot" when there's a graves that wants to go top or something. Heimer vs a good bot is so boring, anyway :\

^ I agree with your post, the battle for top is basically who can capture / kill enemy team first, by placing a turret on the uncontested top point you're basically forcing the other team to stay off it, allowing your team to claim it and have zone control. Last time I played Heimier I went for top first, got a triple kill and the point because the enemy team was unable to fight on it without surviving the continuous damage.

The problem with most people when fighting Heimer is they don't go after his turrets or never make him force his ult.

    Force ult, run away, win.

Luckily I had FP in a couple of ranked games so I either grab graves or banned him if I didn't have FP.

Early game buck shot is key. Mid game Buck shot + his ult are key. End game his dash/as boost is key. And his W is always nice for confusing people.

    I don't like her at all ;(

No slow or cc really kinda sucks. She seems fine for solo top lane but I laugh at her jungling. She may level fast but as long as you're not next to a bush, it's so easy to get away it's not even funny.

Finally had an enemy's W do something useful to me. We were being chased by Graves and someone else, poking them as we run past Baron. Met up with allies, so we turned on them. He tossed down the smoke bomb, and when I came out the rest of the enemy team was suddenly there. "Oh, shit!"

I'm really enjoying Shyvana. I've been having the most success with her as a jungler, though I must admit her ganks are subpar. I usually wait 'til lv6 w/ Red buff which kind of sucks but her presence in dragon form is staggering. Current build has been:

Merc Treads/Berserker Greaves (depending on team comp.) > Wriggle's Lantern > Frozen Mallet > Wit's End > Atma's Impaler > Sunfire cape or Force of Nature depending on heavy AD or AP
