I'm currently trying to break my friends of the habit of buying it on non-tanky characters. "I'm Ashe and they keep focusing me, I should get a thornmail!" Yes, deal back 150 damage in the 1.5 seconds it takes for them to kill you.

I hate when people dont understand as AD carries positioning is what gets you killed.

on the flip side, it's also pretty frustrating when people yell at you for not aiming squishies as an AD carry when to get to them, you have to run through a rammus and olaf

Picked up Garen today. He isn't as bad as I thought as a solo top. Been going Merc. Treads, Frozen Mallet, Atma's Impaler, Maw of Malmortius, Infinity Edge, and Last Whisper. 450 AD, 3k health, and 62% dmg resistance. Any tips for how to play? Or any suggestions for my build? Thanks.

pretty standard AD bruiser build. OP as fuck like every other AD bruiser. or tanky dps? same thing.

I feel like everyone is getting Maw for AD characters now. As a new player, are there times where you shouldn't pick Maw, or characters that it doesn't work well on? For example, my 2 AD bruisers are Wukong and Nidalee, can they use Maw? Or is it really only good for characters that can manipulate their own DEF/Mres or even create their own shields. Also, is it still a go-to item when the enemy only has 1 AP caster or should you get it even if they only have the 1 ryze/brand/etc?

If you see that you will be facing a Garen top lane, just roll the Dyrus Rune Page. gg

In any game you want some MR since you'll at worst face an AP mid or top. And for any bruiser(can't see one where it should differ) Maw > banshees or FoN or abyssal or whatever else can be a possible substitute for your MR slot.

If there are more than 1 AP I'd grab that thing first after some dorans and perhaps even before boots if you don't need the mspeed vs the AP you're up against.

Basically.. I think Maw should eventually be gotten in every game - how many AP and what your lane is just depends on WHEN you get it.
