I hate how often I buy champs before the week ends, and then they become free the following week meaning I won't get as much use out of them. Happened with Riven and Olaf before, and now Jarvan starting tomorrow. Oh well at least I'll probably be able to see this

Why is he even being compared to Karma? Is Nidalee more than anyone else lol

Because (and i'm still a noob) I thought that one of the main issues with karma is her lack of an ultimate in general. Nidalee's is also a stance but you can count it as a long time "escape tool"

But yeah you're right, it is a lot like having Cougar form at level 1 lol

Nidalee comparison definitely makes more sense. Not sure how I feel about the champ until I play him. His kit seems kinda weak even with 6 spells. Also, saw someone on stream on test server saying you couldn't combo E > Q in hammer form. Can anyone confirm/deny?

What do you mean by can't combo E -> Q exactly? You can easily E stun them and then Q jump/slow them.

That you have to wait for the full motion of E to finish before you can Q. Can't Q mid-E.

What are some people's opinions on jayce? I've played him a bit and he seems like he could have a nice place and I'm just not finding it.

Tried top and basically: 1v1 pre ~11 I feel like king of the world, then it goes a bit downhill until lategame where I feel like more of a nuisance than a genuine threat. I've tried a lot of different builds, favorite is either gp/5 start or 2 dorans into some combination of hexdrinker, big fat sword(for BT), or wardens mail depending on the game - rest I just finish off with typical situational stuff. He does snowball pretty easily since I think he trades very well early on and has good kill potential in lane even without junglers. Had a lot of failed ganks resulting in double kills, too. But I guess that's natural for a new champ(players not used to them, not because they're OP). Oh, and team fights sort of sucked.. skrimishes I owned in, though.

Tried bottom too: again, great early game but I felt underwhelming later on. Hard to itemize, too. Not sure about the worth of attack speed on jayce since a lot of his damage is from abilities which don't give a shit about crit or attack speed. W in ranged essentially nullifies it lol. No matter how fed I was I never felt like a typical AD carry(definitely no vayne/kog or ashe, MF, cait, etcetc). Did feel like urgot though.. except with a lot less utility for your team. I think his primary use will be in a kill lane like leona+jarv. As soon as you land a E->Q in ranged you use your W steriod and hammer in. Best part is that you can do that very frequently and it's harder for them to play it perfectly and avoid it than you trying it every 12 seconds or whatever. The Q btw, is awesome harass for both top and bot. It's very hard to avoid since when it explodes it's a very decently sized AoE and takes off a huge chunk of hp.

Played him first in dominion a bit and thought he was omfg OP but 5v5s really put it into perspective lol.

My opinion has been that I have raped the fuck out of everybody when I was top. I haven't tried him elsewhere. It's really all about knowing how to juggle your abilities at the perfect moments and toggling between ranged and bruiser constantly.

I feel like they really fucked up on his cannon form. His range is shorter than every AD carry except Urgot. Same range as Sivir and Kog, but with no way to extend range like Kog. He could deal with it like Siv does by harassing with abilities, except they made his Q a regular skillshot instead of letting it pass through minions. You could maybe overcome this with a tanky support to stand in front of you and be intimidating so you can last hit. Also, I feel like you make good use of his ranged kit in top, while his melee kit is tough to use when you've got the typical squishy carry build.

This is just speculation since I haven't played him yet, but on paper he looks kinda shitty for your carry slot.

I wish I could do that. Played my first ranked in about two weeks last night, and the bottom Taric & Jayce lane was absolutely shut down by Sivir & Blitz. We actually won a team fight later on and got baron, but we weren't able to capitalize and it fell apart shortly afterward. I'm at 1042 now, probably just going to stick to normals from now on.

Yeah I think his only place is solo top. Seem some high elo players wrecking with him in Riven/Irelia style builds.Combinations of Phage->Trinity, BT, GA, And Maw seem to be winning the most.

He's not bad but his Ranged set leaves a little to be desired as far as I'm concerned with his Q. In my mind I think it's silly that you can't shoot more than one through the speed thing.
