10k IP, looking to buy two new champs. I want to pick up an AD carry and a mid. I was thinking Corki, Vayne, or Graves, and maybe Twisted Fate or Karthus. This would be a character I want to learn to climb the ladder, at 1060 or so right now and I want to be ranked before the end of Season 2. Any suggestions?
I can play mid, but my choices are a bit limited. I have Sion, Morgana, & Ryze in decreasing levels of proficiency as my AP mid characters, and Ashe, Sivir, & Tristana for bot. I understand the atmosphere of mid fairly well (although I don't roam nearly as much as I should), and while I'm still learning AD, I know how to last hit well and just haven't become brazen enough to trade or become a hyper-carry.
Graves definitely for AD carry, he's good all game. Vayne's early game is kinda bad unless you lane her with Alistar. For mid Karthus is good if you can farm effectively(plus his R gives you map presence since you are not that good at roaming yet apparently). Kassadin is something good to learn too since he counters alot of AP Mids, and with that much IP you could almost afford all 3 iirc(think Karthus is cheap)
Le Blanc. Counter all AP casters in the face(except maybe Kassadin, can be a toss up.)
Now i want diana, but i need a rune page and 1.5k more IP![]()
Only played a few games with her today, but Diana is pretty awesome so far.
What are you guys building with Diana?
So far I've been trying out Lichbane, Rylais, Deathcap, gunblade, swift boots, and malady (not in that order).
runes are what phreak mentioned on the video, atk+ red, armor yellow, flat AP blue and quints and im using a slightly tweaked version of the mastery page he's using.
jungling with aspd red, armor yellow, ap per level blues, 2 ap quint and a movespeed.
the only game i really got a good feel for it i was dominating, the 2nd game i played i went 0/5/1 because of a shitty invasion by our own team. overall though, those runes are perfect imo for her.
I don't know what your champ collection or money situation is like, but consider buying the champ bundles. Each has 20 champs for 20 dollars and there are two.
Of the AD you listed, Graves is the best choice. He fits any team comp well, has a strong kit, and his only real weakness is his short range, which you can overcome through smart play and is somewhat mitigated in lane by his passive.
I don't really play mid, so I can't help there except to say that if you want to pick up your roaming, TF, Kassadin and Ahri are all good choices. Ahri is such a frequent solo-Q ban that I can't recommend her though.
I play Diana solo top. I've only played four matches with her, but I've dominated my lane every time. So far, I've denied a Nasus, Rumble, Diana, and Riven.

-Magic penetration reds and AP are self-explanatory
-I prefer flat armor and mr as security against my lane opponent. I also build her semi-tanky.

-Defense tree for improved dueling ability
-Mana regen is not needed because you;re a burst champion; you'll be conserving most of your pool for burst exchanges or ganks
Q > W > W > E for the first four levels. In terms of priority, max R > Q > W > E. Two points in shield allows you to exchange with a majority of solo top champions. Diana is capable of lv3 kills with ignite, assuming they've been poked. A good way to build this up is to time every third strike to hit your opponent for extra damage taken.
Item build:
Start - Boots + Potion x3
Early game goal: Sorc boots + Dorans rings x2 + Sheen
Mid game goal: Sorc boots > Rabadons cap > Lichbane > Guardian Angel
End game goal: Sorc boots > Rabadons cap > Lichbane > Guardian Angel > Abyssal Scepter > Rylai's Crystal Scepter
Final result: 170 armor, 190 MR, 2800 HP, and 570ish AP. At this point, you'll have no problem 3 shotting the carry and you'll have the durability of a bruiser. This build syncs so well with her... It's just so beautiful.
Oh, and I've done it best to waltz into a team fight with your shield on instead of trying to force your gap closer. I find if you R to your opponent at the start, you'll struggle sticking with them.
My runes are AS reds, armor yellow and MR blues, hp5 quints(have 1 AP quint and no MS quints yet), 21/9/0.
The one game I got an almost full build I went Boots + pots -> Kages -> Sheen -> finish boots -> Rylais -> Lich bane -> Frozen heart -> Abyssal scepter, the game ended around ~44 min before I could finish DFG. One thing I noticed I should have done is grab 2 Doran rings after Kages for the hp/ap/etc to make me abit beefier until Rylais comes out and sell them later. Been contemplating switching a Frozen heart with Sunfire cape, since it meshes well when paired with Abyssal and would give me abit more health in lategame but I'll have to see, the build I posted above worked great.
diana is op, you're more likely to win with her as mid or top. don't go mid if you can't farm well against casters
Yeah, Diana is definitely OP right now. I believe her Q needs to be toned down a lot if she is going to have an easily reset R.
Also it should be pretty easy to farm with her since her Q is so strong and she can partially ignore casters with her refreshing shield.
I went with Karthus & Graves as my champs. Won my first two games as Karthus, vs. an Orianna & Zyra. It took a while for me to get used to his farming strategy (using his Q instead of his autoattack), but he's really fun to play and I know I can get better with him. Definitely a champ I want to continue using.
Haven't won a game yet with Graves, which is probably more due to my inexperience with the character and role than anything else. Had one game where I managed to go 2-10 and was totally zoned out by a Draven/Lux combo. Absolutely had no idea how to counter it, and it just got worse after the laning phase ended. I need more experience with him and with ADC in general.
I don't think she's that bad. Lots of tops/mids could beat her. You can't really spam farm like a lot of other mids since her mana pool is pretty low. Her shield isn't strong enough to hold off most harass from good mids. She's not bad but not great. I feel like she's pretty balanced.
The Diana top in the game I played last night went 33-11-7 in 55 minutes, fwiw
