Now, I am looking at some tanks. I prefer the tank playstyle because, well I suck, and it lets me make more mistakes. I already have Alistair, and I like Taric so far and I always see him in competitive games. Is he a good pick?

If it does, I wouldn't mind playing with some BG people. I am not the best player, but I do know my head from my ass which seemed to be a problem for some random players.

What is the best way to learn a new champion? I feel like if I join a matched game with a new champion I am kind of hurting my team. Either I learn the champ pretty quickly on the fly or I just get stomped. Should I be playing games against bots first, or should I just dive right in?

intermediate bots since they're aggressive for no reason, and dom matches help you immensely during team fights.

If you have a friend to duo with, just duo vs them with your champ vs. another champ. Its also great practice for your duo partner.

Just do normal games. Who cares. There are times where even your best champ will get stomped.

I've gotten to the point that if its a champ I bought from liking it I tend to get a real feel for it very fast in a normal game. As for free week champs I never played, well, that's harder and I still need to do a coop to be safe regardless of me having seen them played before.
