I think Riot goes to LANs and see how friendly people are there without the veil of anonymity and assumes that's their community. From that perspective, honor is a great idea. In reality though, honor will just be another way to troll. Next time you ask the enemy team to report the guy who's running down the mid-lane and feeding every time he respawns, instead of just saying no, they're going to give him honor for teamwork.

I've been playing Jungle Volibear a lot lately, I think he's really underrated. His early ganks are decent and his mid to late game is just ridiculous; his ult wrecks faces in team fights. Majestic Roar is awesome for jungling and a 3 second 30% slow at level 1, which is pretty ridiculous when you consider most slows are 2s and 20%. Not to mention, he probably has the most OP passive in the game, once you hit 3k hp that's a free 900 health (not including spirit visage, which you should get). Just build him tanky as fuck and wreck faces with his ult in team fights. Almost no skill required. The enemy either has to waste tonnes of damage killing you or you'll just destroy them with your ult.

Right now I go 1-2 GP/10s (I stop buying GP/10s at 10 min mark) into Phage and Spirit Visage. Finish Mallet then Shurelya's. FoN and/or Warmogs for late game. Any tips?

And for runes I run 10% aspd, 9 phys dmg, 13 armor, 13 mr; may consider hp per level yellows.

I got honor from an opponent in a normal last night, pretty sure it was sarcastic though as I went 1-8 screwing around as mid Soraka. My friend & I have been duo queueing together and throw honor at each other when we have good games

Just had an enemy jungle Maokai claim he was going to report our Jungle Lee Sin for overcompensating when he killed him in his own jungle. That shouldn't surprise me but that's the first I've heard that said. The community never fails to surprise me.

Honor system just seems like a giant circle jerk for now.

what's honor for? I mean, I know you get it by team mates "honor"ing you but what's it mean, exactly?

Atm it's just getting recognition for being a good player. I honestly never heard of the system until I noticed the extra button on my postgame screen. There's no 'rewards' or anything for it(physical ones anyway), but now teams can just pat themselves on the back after a good game, hence the circle jerk comment. Personally I like it for being able to give it to the other team, for those occasional games where both sides play well and it's a close match and even if I lose a match like that I'm not even mad cause everyone played well and didn't superderp.

Hey guys. I've been playing League off and on for a month (~LV23) mostly due to pressure from my friends. I've tried to play every position so I can solo queue and fill whatever's needed but I'm really taking a liking to the support role.

I've purchased Soraka, Sona, and Janna. Most of the time I should be picking the champ that lanes well with the bottom carry right?

So far I've been picking Soraka whenever I get laned with an MP hog (like Kog Maw) and we play pretty aggressively. But I'm not sure when to pick Sona over Janna or vs versa.

My biggest problem is knowing what to purchase/when to purchase. I always make wards a purchase and I pay attention to the map as much as possible. I tend to lean towards getting gold+ items in the beginning to supplement my lack of gold gain. My friends will always instruct me what to buy towards late game but I don't like depending on their input for every purchase--I should be able to figure it out myself.

Any advice or a point in the right direction(website) would be nice. A lot of sites I've found seem to be really outdated.

Support is more about warding properly and buffing your team/debuffing the enemy than doing any damage yourself. The best supports are ones with crowd control abilities that incapacitate the enemy enough so that someone else can pick up the kill. Mandatory support items are:
Philosopher's Stone (Upgrade this to Shurelia's Reverie in mid/late game)
    Heart of Gold
Mercury's Treads (cooldown boots optional, but I usually get other items instead for CDR)
-some people also like getting Kage's Lucky Pick for a more offense. Popular on characters like Janna, Soraka, or Zilean)

Aura items are really important for support characters. Popular items are:
Aegis of the Legion (I build this in almost every game)
    Zeke's Herald
    Will of the Ancients
Frozen Heart (works better if you are a tanky support like Taric, Alistar, or Leona)
Abyssal Scepter (same, but usually better on an AP mid like Karthus)

For aura items, make sure another teammate isn't building them first. Frozen hearts are especially popular on some top characters and junglers. And always always ALWAYS get wards on support. I can't stress this enough. If the enemy is warding a lot, use more vision wards to destroy theirs, and consider picking up an Oracle's Elixir too.

Cooldown reduction is important, and fortunately a lot of the items I listed above have CDR on them. A combination of masteries, and then a Shurelia's Reverie & Frozen Heart will put you at or very close to the CDR cap. Play with the builds and adapt to the enemy team. If they have a lot of Attack Damage, don't prioritize an MR item! Support also needs to have a lot of map awareness to see the other team's warding habits, the jungler's location, and taking objectives. I usually end up being the one to focus my team as a support character. I wouldn't say I'm great at what I do, but it's my main role and I can play pretty much any support character proficiently.
