Super nub beginner here. Where would I go for good beginner's info and how to rune/mastery up? Currently lv 5 summoner lol and I've been using Master Yi

You won't need runes till level 20 (tier 3) and masteries are usually included in the guides. Good websites for guides are Solomid.net, Mobafire (mostly for the layout), but once you play your character a few times you'll learn what items to get.

I recommend practicing vs AI first to learn how to farm effectively, especially as Master Yi's main damage skill can be unpredictable when you're new, and you'll get punished too easily for it against human opponents (mostly smurfs, which are level 30s making a second account). Yi is highly dependant on farm, and he can become unstoppable if he gets ahead of his opponents. You could also try jungling, as Yi is pretty good at it even at low summoner levels since he has a healing skill that is basically free with a blue buff.

Otherwise, streams are a good way to learn the game mechanics and websites such as Twitch.tv have a lot of pro players streaming and explaining the game dynamics while they do.

RL friend been playing for a few months, but don't want to let him know I'm playing until I'm confident he won't have to drag me. I'm usually the one ahead of him when we are both playing the same game (XI mainly, then any console games that we go vs in)

I second watching some streams. I think I started watching streams after last years tournament. I'm still terrible but I'm not as bad as I was last year.

If you're going to watch streams I really recommend watching Scarra. He's not the best but when he streams he tells you exactly what he(his) team is doing any why.

I would also recommend Xspecial too if you are wanting to learn about Supports. Trying to think who is nice for ADCs and Top Lane. Junglers I usually watch SV or TheOddOne, TheOddOne can teach you a lot of shit if he is in the mood.

Keep in mind that bots are extremely predictable, so there's only so much you can gain from playing against them. And watching streams is only helpful if you have a foundation to go on, and can actually relate to what the streamers are saying. Otherwise, it probably won't register and you wouldn't be able to apply what you learn while in game.

Once you consistently get around a 3:1 (kill:death) ratio on bots (assuming you're not support), I'd start playing some PvP normals.

Been doing Blitz+Ziggs combo in botlane with my roommate and we haven't lost a game in a week.

Ziggs Traps > Blitz Q > Bomb+Blitz E > Ignite > (Exhaust + 2nd bomb if needed) > Dead

First blood at level 2 guaranteed. Every. Fucking. Time.

I then proceed to go 3 GP5 and go AP Blitz with wards, so if the game takes longer I get incredibly fed since I just farm between lanes. We usually average 1 ragequit per game, with 2 ragequits being frequent.

I can't win games anymore. I've dropped between 40-60 elo in the last day or two. I think I need a break from this game.

I know that feel bro. Try kassadin he is such a pub stomp char its not even funny. Sure he loses most lanes until 6 but afterwards its so funny. 31/12/26 after 4 games(1st game ever I went 0/1/0 D: So its really like after 3 games.)

Also lee sin is still OP as shit.

As far as streams you can learn from, if you want to learn top lane, I recommend Wingsofdeathx. He's a pretty smart top and he's good about explaining everything he's doing and why.

I do relatively well as Evelynn, though not as well as 30/2

. I played four ranked games last night, mid for 3 of them, and went 1-3 in those four (1-2 mid). My combined score for mid lane (2 games as eve, one vlad) was 25/14/31.

The one win last night was really cool though. We started losing bot lane, and the tristana was getting grumpy at the rengar. After this, I'd tell the rengar to take the lane whenever he went near mid, and I'd go bot as Eve and kill one or both of them. Managed to control all three lanes this way, and had a really great, hard-fought win. The other two losses were a combination of mistakes, failure to listen or communicate properly, and teammates flaming each other that resulted in a loss. Everyone is so high-strung because the season ends on Tuesday, and it's just such a frustration to play at all.
