So, how the hell are you supposed to get out of the cesspool that is bronze? I can't win a game to save my damn life. I can play just about any role pretty proficiently, and usually carry pretty hard, but we always lose because some idiot feeds hard or d/c's.
I just don't get this game. How are people so consistently bad? My win/losses took a nose dive in the last few days.
It is more likely that the other team will get a dc/afk/troll than your team. Just keep playing and eventually your impact will be great enough to move through the ranks.
add me Minnich. yea pretty much what aero says, i've been stuck in bronze for a while. keep going between III and IV.
Added you, Jink. My ID is "Zefock". been having some decent luck today, so far. Guess that's all it is...luck. At least until higher levels.
doing promotion games to get to gold 1, have heimer support in first game and lose 2nd game cause of shitties
now down to 27 lp i hate dis
Do you get placed with other people who are also playing their own series? Like, I can't imagine if someone was in their own series, that they would troll their most important games...
Basically, find one character that you know you will always snowball with and just always play them. Usually a bursty mid or top.
Fizz, Talon, Akali, Riven, Darius all come to mind. Any character where you have had a 20+ kill game with. Learn them to perfection. It's pretty easy from there.
Hate solo queue for that fact, they want a lane so bad that first pick will be mid/top and get the shit countered out of them so bad.
Finally got Silver III. Finally starting to see somewhat competent players....
Hope I can put together enough of a streak to get to Gold. That would make my year.
To climb out of bronze I worked on a few key things. I mastered like 5 heroes: Jayce, Ezreal, Ahri, Karthus, Singed; Sona, Nunu, Leona for support (never played). As in- I knew the match ups for these heroes well, I knew my damage, exactly how many hits, spells etc I needed to win trades, had specific runes for particularly BAD match ups. I worked on my CSing, so I always highest in the game, but I didn't just afk farm in lane for 20 minutes. The most important time in a game is the first 20 minutes. Jungle needs to 'balance' each lane, if a lane is snowballing, stop it, inversely help your lanes snowball. Mid needs great wave clear and roam potential. Bottom needs to be safe, and well fed. Top is almost 100% match up, if you don't yourself get counter picked you shoul win 90% if you're mechanically skilled and map aware. Top is harder is carry from, because to influence the game you need to take down the tower early then move your presence across the map. I highly recommend using teleport on top so you tele-gank bottom whenever its up then take dragon right after. Global objectives win games.
In terms of carry potential, if you are SKILLED:
Jungle: Highest
Mid: High
Bot AD: Late game only (unless you snowball with first blood and some kills)
Top: Mid game-Late game (depends on how early tower went down, what hero you are)
Support: Depends on your ADC lol.
Using these key guide lines and a lot of smart prep in my runes and masteries, builds that let me dominate matchups in my favor or counter match ups that aren't. It's a lot of work, but I literally won 18 games in a row in a week and got to gold without a problem. Believe it or not, the game is pretty static now and preparation goes a long way. If you really wanna play to win you need to lower your champion pool and master them. There's a reason a lot of the current pro players began by climbing using only a handful of heroes (especially BAD ones like phantom lord revive karthus, lol); they play the heroes to death until they know exactly how any matchup with that hero is gonna play out.
That's certainly true.
Before I was spreading my champs out way too far, relying on the hardest counter-picks. This worked out ok, but I wasn't able to carry hard enough to get myself out of Bronze. Now I've widdled down my champs to probably 10-20, still utilizing counterpicks. Finally winning some games in good strings....
Graves, Sivir, Morde, Ryze, Skarner, Kat, Cho, Taric, Leona
I feel like I never get top lane......
I randomly picked up Varus, played tonnes of games with him and found that any Taric + Varus crushes all bottom lanes except Janna. It got to a point where we could secure kills the instant we hit lvl2. Subsequently, my friend and I began taking golems on blue side (didn't before) just to press this advantage further. I'd run to lane, begin autoing so my minions would die slower and I'd hit lvl2 quicker. Eventually, it became routine and first blood was a 90% guarantee for our Varus+Taric games lol. Preparation.
Varus is insanely strong, can't complain, right now he's one of my stronger adcs. (Juggling QaV in the beta as well, she's too good.) but so far i've won the lane hard with him in all my recent games, and iirc, won all my matches w/ him.
You don't need a 100% win percentage to get out of Bronze. You just need to win a solid majority of your games. Counterpicks don't matter at that level if your skill is better than theirs. I often times think there is too much focus on picks, counters, and meta (they are important but shitty players can ruin anything) and not enough focus on actually playing well.
Once you are out of bronze, then worry about that stuff.
I have to say that I am having the most trouble beating varus in the laning phase as Cait on adc or as leona/lulu support. Admittedly, I have not tried Graves or Sivir (which would avoid his bursty e) and I am not very good as Janna so I didn't try that either. Not really sure what Janna can do to that lane either besides disengage the fight. Either way you lose the trade because of how good Hail of Arrows is for trading...
Just checked championselect.net and the matchups were supposed to go exactly as i said x.x
